RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt, WAS (16 Viewers)

Depth charts are fun.
Giddens was the 3 in Indy behind Goodson all preseason guess who is inactive Goodson.
Mostert was going to be LV 3rd down back and he is inactive.

Was going super late in redraft (Got him in rounds 21, 18, 15) then when Robinson news broke to be traded shot up as high as round 5/6 then when Rodriguez is goal line back came out I was now back in the game got some 9/10 round shares before drafts closed. Still will be up and down with Ekeler there.

My biggest bummer of the dynasty season was I was set to take him in a couple dynasty leagues in slow drafts waited for hours ready to take him and then boom goes 1 pick in front of me in round 6 and 2 picks in front in round 6. Only got 1 share in dynasty in round 4 of a 16 team league.
Should just picked him sooner in the others.
In my 2 late dynasty rookie drafts I was going to take him mid 2nd went 1 and 2 picks before me in both.

Ekeler got three drives and had 7 touches. Bill will 2 drives and 4 touches. We’ll see who gets the first drive of the 2nd half.

But looks like Ekeler getting a 3rd and long snap. In the first half, I don’t think they alternated within the same drive.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed 10 times for 82 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 1 win over the Giants.

Austin Ekeler saw nearly all of the work on the Commanders’ first two drives, but Croskey-Merritt made his presence known once he hit the field. The seventh-round rookie broke off an 11-yard run on the Commanders’ fourth possession and put the finishing touches on that drive when he broke outside for a six-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter. His longest run came on the Commanders’ final possession when he broke up field for a 42-yard run to help put the game on ice. Croskey-Merritt saw 12 second-half snaps to Austin Ekeler’s 10 and saw seven opportunities to Ekeler’s two over the final two quarters. There’s little reason to think Croskey-Merritt, whose 82 rushing yards led the Commanders in Week 1, won’t have a bigger role going forward. His lack of receiving upside will cap is weekly outlook, making him a boom-or-bust RB2 against the Packers.

as @Da Franchise said, no real mistakes or bad plays observed. Keep stacking those games with production and his role will grow.

I haven't seen the big run he broke in the 2nd half yet (40+ yarder) but I caught that TD and a couple other carries and he actually made it look easy and was incredibly nimble IMHO. Watch the TD and tell me how easy he won the corner after bouncing it. I think most guys get tackled in the flat.

It's a shotgun handoff, he gets up to full speed very quickly when he finds a lane and was able make a guy miss in the open field.

Just to try to temper expectations…

He only had 10 touches (and one target) in a game that Washington controlled from start to finish. He only had 50% of the RB carries. McNichols had snaps in important parts of the game. It will be interesting to see whether or not it grows into a larger role or if week one represented their ideal.

Unfortunately, I think the only way he consistently gets close to 20 touches is if Ekeler is injured.

But, he looks the part and passes the eye test. So smooth.
