Game Thread W14 - Indianapolis V Houston (1 Viewer)

Dom Capers has DD on his big money fantasy team so it is pretty much guarenteed that every freakin play will be designed for him.AJ won't have a catch and if they sniff the redzone it will be all DD until Dom gets fired.

I can't believe this thread.Maybe everyone's missed Indy's games the last few weeks:Nov 14 Houston Won 49-14 Nov 21 @Chicago Won 41-10 Nov 25 @Detroit Won 41-9 Dec 5 Tennessee Won 51-24 Indy has been sailing at halftime for weeks on end. Now, this week, they're up 3 pointsat the start of the fourth quarter and you're criticizing Capers' gameplan?I don't get it.

forgive me if I am behind on the conversations just got home and i look for AJ on my scoring and he has 12 yrds?????? Is he sucking or what is Carr sucking I mean it's the Colts pass D??? please help me out to understand!

I'll note that when I was critical, I do believe that the score was either 14-7 or 14-0. I have to give Dom some credit here, even though I'm still incredibly frustrated with the change in this team from their first 6 to their second six games. Remember, this is a fantasy site. The Davis owners are happy, but those of us with Carr and Johnson are really frustrated.

Here's another issue with the play-calling: how the hell do you NOT give Seth Wand a little freaking help against Dwight Freeney. All we're gonna do is throw toward Andre or dump off to Davis anyway, why not max-protect? It's not like we ever use Bradford, Gaffney, or Miller anyway so why not give the crap OL some help? I know the Domanick crap is actually working this week so I'll let it slide but it doesn't take a genius to know that Wand is overmatched by Freeney.I HATE CHRIS PALMER :wall:

I think you have to give the Texans a lot of credit today for just hanging in there. I can't believe what a machine Manning is. What a second round draft choice Manning was this year...he's been carrying me.I'd still like to see 300 yards and 3 td's today.

Well, I guess everyone in here is probably happy now, Houston has gone away from the DD show and stalled twice. Current Drive - (Last Play on Bottom) Houston Texans begin at 7:38M.Gramatica kicks 50 yards from IND 30 to HST 20. T.Washington to HST 36 for 16 yards (C.Bird).1-10-HOU 36 (7:33) J.Wells left tackle to HST 35 for -1 yards (D.Freeney).2-11-HOU 35 (6:54) D.Carr pass to D.Davis to HST 44 for 9 yards (J.David, C.June).3-2-HOU 44 (6:10) (Shotgun) D.Carr sacked at HST 40 for -4 yards (R.Mathis).4-6-HOU 40 (5:41) C.Stanley punts 35 yards to IND 25, Center-B.Pittman, fair catch by T.Walters. (Punt hang time 3.9 seconds.)

I don't think you could possibly call us happy. We're calling for effective passing. You know, what the Texans did at the start of the season. This is pathetic. I was right to call this a farce.

Well, at least it was close right? :wall:
Yeah, Dom did a hell of a job of not getting badly beaten by the Colts or letting Manning set the record. Whee. Here and I thought his job was to WIN FOOTBALL GAMES :hot:

Colts D played lousy at times - but only two things matter - they got the W, and they only gave up 14 points. Not a pretty W, but as a Colts fan I'll take it - they win the division, so that is all that matters right now.

The texans had zero chance of winning this game. At least they made it respectable.

I hope your kidding. I'd rather go out and try to win the game but lose by 50 points than try to keep in close just to lose. The way the Texans defense played there was no excuse for them losing this game. They just didn't try to win and wanted to look good by only losing by a few points.

If that's Dom's attitude, he should be fired. The organization might as well just forfeit any game to a team that he feels is better than they are.

Look:1. Andre Johnson has never torched the Colts in 4 tries. Look it up.2. D Davis was their only chance to win this game - their OL has a lot of trouble against the Colts' pass rush. Even with all the screens and draws, the Colts D got 5 sacks today.3. The bottom line is the Colts made the plays at the end of the game, and the Texans didn't. The Colts D made 2-3 key stops in the 4th quarter. The Colts O got a few key first downs. Vandy made some key FGs. Capers and the Texans did a nice job today, but the Colts are 9-3 and the Texans 5-8 because the Colts are simply better.

Personally I think it's pathetic that you can't get a passing game going with the QB and WR's that the Texans have. The offensive play calling is terrible and a waste of the talent they have. If they had anyone else calling the plays Carr and Johnson would be hooking up consistently and winning games.

They need a better pass-blocking OL. I think the Packers game on TV was an example where Capers did deserve heavy criticism of his play-calling. This game - maybe - but they can't pass-block as well as they needed to to throw downfield.
