Game Thread W14 - Pittsburgh V New England (1 Viewer)

After a three and out by the Patriots, Pittsburgh starts with the quick slant to Ward, then goes to the big formation and runs it on second and four. The Pats stop it for 2, but the Steelers bring out the 2 TE set again. Roethlisberger picks up the first through the air on a short pass to Miller.

I can't believe this. Pats game starts before Bills game is over. So Pats I guess go 3&out. Pitts has possession of the ball but we have to squeeze in a few more commericals

First down, the Steelers go back to the run, but Wilfork catches Parker two yards deep in the backfield. The Steelers load up the left, then drop back to pass. Nothing's there, so Roethlisberger runs it for five. Third and seven.

Roethlisberger drops back and picks up Santonio Holmes for 13 yards on the crossing route. Holmes is wincing visibly after the catch, but stays on the field for first down.

Second and ten, Roethlisberger drops back, throws over the middle to Miller on a TE curl, connecting for 11 yards. First down.

First and ten, Roethlisberger again drops back, scrambles right, then throws it out of bounds when nothing opens up.

No huddle, Roethlisberger QB sneaks for a yard and a first down. The Steelers would be thrilled to start with a long drive for a TD.

First and ten, Roethlisberger drops back. Seymour gets pressure on the QB, Bruschi knocks down the pass, but the Patriots are called for defensive holding.

First and goal from the seven. The Steelers line up two TEs. Ward in motion to the right. Parker runs off tackle to the left but is stopped for a one yard gain. Second and goal from the six.

Roethlisnerger trips up as he drops back to pass. Slings it right to Heath Miller, who breaks free after a chuck from Vrabel in the backfield. Stopped for one yard. Third and goal frolm the five.

Roethlisberger lines up, four wides. Vrabel, who jumped just as the ball snaps, gets grabbed around the face mask as he gets pressure on the QB, but it's not called. Roethlisberger feels the pressure and throws the ball out of the back corner of the end zone. Field goal is good, 3-0.

Second and eight, Brady back to pass, hits Kevin Faulk for 6. Third and a long one/short two. Brady goes no huddle, but takes the full clock. Throws the ball towards Moss, who bobbles it off the back of the defender, tips it to himself, and catches it. Ike Taylor with the coverage.

That was a heck of a catch.

And it was followed by a heck of a run by Maroney. Maroney hit after a gain of four, but the offensive line drives the pile another seven yards for a gain of 11.

First and ten, quick pass to the left to Moss, but it's low and goes off his fingertips.

Brady in the shotgun. Steelers blitz. Throw over the middle, fastball to Gaffney hits him in the chest as he jumps, and he makes the reception for 9.9 yards. Third and inches.

Will Brady QB sneak again? Or do they mix it up?

Figured there would be more then this......................

Third and inches, Pats have the ball on the eight. Line up in the big formation, hand off to Maroney in the backfield, he jumps/falls over the line for a first down and a short gain. First and goal from the six or so.

Both teams are taking the full clock on every down.

Maroney on first down runs up the middle for three. Second and goal from the three. He runs off the field. Faulk in the backfield, Brady in the gun

bostonfred doing meth?
No, a lot of people aren't getting to see this game because other games are still in progress. I'm just trying to help them catch up.
Keep up the good work, BostonFred. We are not getting this game PERIOD.
Yeah a few people were complaining about that. Glad to help if I can. By the way, the TD pass was a slant route in towards the goal posts, not a fade or jump ball. Moss blew by two defenders in his area, one of whom appears to have tripped.

Decent kickoff return by Rossum to the 30, commercial. This will be a trend.

For those who couldn't watch the game, the Chargers won on a 16 yard Tomlinson TD run, completing the comeback victory over the Titans and all but knocking Tennessee out of the playoffs, especially after the Buffalo win.

Roethlisberger drops back to pass, Jarvis Green with the sack. Pressure from every direction as Roethlisberger was looking deep. Loss of 9.

Seconc and 19, Roethlisberger gives another awkward handoff for a draw to Parker. Gain of three. The quarter ends, and we can expect another long set of commercials.

I don't think thats what Pitt had in mind for the first two downs.

They don't pick up the first here, the D better come up big.

Roethlisberger has looked good but has had a little trouble with his footwork today. Not sure what's going on, but he's had a couple of awkward steps as he handed the ball off or was trying to roll out. I wonder if it's his cleats.

Moss talking to Brady on the sidelines. Brady seems to be listening intently.

Third and 16, Roethlisberger throws short to Ward. He picks up 9, and the punt unit comes on

Could the Steelers look any flatter? You'd think they'd bring some emotion into this game. If you can't get up for a game against the Patriots, I don't know who you could get really juiced about.
