And yet Peterson still managed to be a top 3 or top 5 RB in most fantasy leagues this year, despite even missing a few games due to an injury!

What the heck...Taylor starting over Peterson? I will assume that Peterson on the bench for disciplinary reasons, and that Brad Childress is not a complete idiot who should be fired after this game.

Take away the Chicago and SD games and would he be? There will be more SF, Washington games with him then those other two.

That argument doesn't work. The ability to put up monster games is what makes a guy like Peterson a stud.

1-3-DEN 3 (7:42) 29-C.Taylor right end for 3 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Denver challenged the runner broke the plane ruling, and the play was REVERSED. 29-C.Taylor right end to DEN 1 for 2 yards. FUMBLES, ball out of bounds in End Zone, Touchback.
this is why we need AP in goal line situations.

Yes, and putting your best player on the bench to start a game is typically the best way to accomplish this goal.

Why in the hell do players take the chance with jumping and trying to extend the ball over the goalline near the marker? I've seen this bite teams in the ### and result in a touchback more times than I care for.

Not saying that Childress should be fired over fantasy football. In last week's critical loss to WA, Peterson touched the ball 11 times. Today, the dazzling talent that is Chester Taylor starts the game and has equal carries so far. Perhaps Childress is such a good coach that he wants to prove he can win an important game without a major contribution from the best player on the team?Yeah, but saying he should be fired over FF is crazy.. ADP touched the ball 11 times last week cause they were behind in a must win game.. When he did touch the ball in the first half he did nothing. Why would Childress continue to feed a player that the D was keying on?You would think his contract expired at the end of this season.
That's the point. Childress isn't smart enough to gameplan around the fact that D's are keying on Peterson. Instead of getting Peterson the ball by means other than slamming him into 8-9 man fronts all game (read: screen and swing passes) or using that fact to the O's advantage in the Vikes passing game, he continues the same uninspiring gameplan week after week. That may work against the Raiders, Lions and Niners of the league, but it's not going to get you wins against quality opponents. Watching the game last week I noticed that as soon as AD would get something going he would be replaced with Chester. Perhaps Childress was sick of the " Peterson is saving his job" talk and wants to prove he can do it without him. Would not shock me with Childress, he's an idiot. If you watched all of the Vikings games this year you would see that he has no idea how to run the offense. Seriously, how can any player or coach under him give him respect? He is horrible. The only coach I've liked worse was Cotrell when he was D Coordinator. Why? Because I went to a game in Indy and watched as he sent plays in from the sideline with D linemen... EVEN WHEN THE COLTS WERE IN THE NO HUDDLE OFFENSE! He even sent in a player with a play when Manning was under center, unbelievable. I don't think there is any room for doubting that Childress IS an idiot and should be fired. :shoots foot:
But not because of what is happening in this game but because of what has been happening all season. This is just more of the same. The Vikings have the opportunity to go up by 2 TD yet only get 3pts out of it. Allowing the Donkeys to get back in the game. The lack of innovative play calling and poor game management as well as a total lack of being able to adjust to what the other team is doing is why the Vikings struggle. Because of the coaching. The players have been good enough to overcome this at times this season because of their great execution. It is pretty obvious that against any well coached team the Vikings will be at a disadvantage though. We saw that last week in a must win playoff type game at home the Vikings got dominated by a team whos personel are not better than the Vikings but who's coaches clearly are. We are seeing more of the same today.
