Game Thread W2 - Buffalo V Miami (1 Viewer)

Andy Hicks

Footballguy
Welcome to Week 2

Once the game kicks off this thread will be pinned, but for now it will run on its own merits.

Please provide your thoughts, pre, during and after the game.

Remember that not everyone will be watching this game, so if you could provide detailed analysis it would be much appreciated. ***PLEASE BE CIVIL***

Things like 'Go Reggie' aren't what we are looking for.

Why will team X win?

Who is the QB targetting?

How are the lines looking?

Who's running the ball well?

Who looks in over his head?

Who's injured (also reference this in the injury thread which will be created once the sunday games are live)

Anything that you think will be of benefit to someone not watching the game or who doesn't care about your fantasy team.

Post game analysis, in particular is what we want to see.

Go for it

Maybe it's the homer in me talking, but I like Buffalo's offense in this game. McGahee looked very quick against the Patriots. His biggest negative was that he seemed to hesitate when hitting the holes at times. I think that McGahee puts up over a 100 yards on the ground this week.

I also like the Buffalo passing game. The Dolphins are prone to giving up the big play in the air and Losman to Evans could have a big day. But I think that the Guppies will focus in on Evans pretty heavily and I actually expect Price to be the one that ends up with a big TD catch.

I also expect the Dolphins to have a big day on offense. The Bills couldn't stop the run at all last week. Ronnie Brown could have a huge day. I expect Culpepper to have a fairly low completion percentage, but there will be a few big plays due to rookie mistakes by the safeties. Chris Chambers should have a nice day with a couple of long TDs.

I do expect Culpepper to turn the ball over several times though. The Bills were all over the Patriot backfield last week and I expect more of the same against the Dolphins. Several sacks, a fumble and 2 INTs wouldn't surprise me at all from Culpepper.

Bring it on Guppies!

:goodposting: Go Bills!

Totally disagree with McGahee having a good day. With Wilkerson & Trailor clogging the middle Thomas is going to limit McGahee.

I expect Evans to have a good to great day as he did last year. Ronnie Brown should have a very good day.

Playing games in the heat of September down in Miami will not be easy for the Bills as they wear down in the 2nd half.

Miami 27

Buffalo 13

I think that Wilkerson and Trailor are actually a huge disadvantage to the Dolphins in this matchup. The Bills are really utilizing McGahee's speed and running lots of counters and traps. Those big DTs won't be able to get outside and contain those runs as well. And once they get moving in one direction, they're not going back the other way.

I just hope that a play spills over to the sidelines and they knock Mularkey on his ###.

P.S. if he's in the booth I hope a punt hits him in the head. :football:

Good points but with Wilkerson & Trailor occupying the middle the Bills wil not be able to get a body on Thomas. Zach takes great angles and will be able to get to the outside unblocked. It's the matchup of the day for this game. Can Zack stop Willis on the outside.

Zack will miss at least 5 tackle today, he's on the slide. Whitner will pick off C-Pep, take it to the bank.

To be honest, while I'm starting McGahee, I can't expect more than 80 total yards from him. I'm hoping for a TD.Evans won't produce like last year, but I expect 2 big plays one to the end zone. 4 receptions, 80 yards (mostly from those 2 big plays). In the end, Miami wins as Ronnie Brown shows us why he's an elite RB. over 100, and a TD.Chambers continues to look brilliant at times, but drops a couple potential TDs.

Thomas is far from done. He'll get to the corner and stop MCGahee. The way to beat Miami is through the air. They'll make Losman beat them. You feel confidant with Losman?92 and humid today in Miami. Ronnie Brown wears them down today in the 2nd half.

Reminds me of what I used to tell myself back in the 90's about Miami's chances against Buf :banned:

Okay, have too....QB: Losman, Grew up in Southern Cal, played FB in Louisiana, Spent last 2 years in BuffaloQB: Cullpepper, Grew up in Florida, Played FB in Florida, Spent last 8 years in MinnesotaBills starters who played college ball in hot southern states:Losman, TulaneMcGahee, MiamiJosh Reed, LSUPeerless Price, TennesseeKevin Everett, MiamiRobert Royal, LSUTutan Reyes, MississippiPeters, ArkansasSchobel, TCUKelsay, NebraskaMcCargo, NC StateParrish, MiamiK. Williams LSUSpikes, AuburnCrowell, VirginiaThats 14 out of 22 starters.. (did not include 2 TEs).I dont think the heat and humidity will affect the bills that much. In fact, i think this is one of the biggest mistakes the previous regime made. These guys need to play in cold weather come October.

This is all great, but the weather is more of an impact because they haven't been playing/practicing in it recently. It'll be more of a shock on their body, since they aren't used to it right now. I don't think it'll be a big deal, though. The only area it might be a big factor is at DT, where the Bills are weak already.

Saddly, I agree with this. Our offensive line played pretty well in the first half last week, but I think that was a fluke. McGahee isn't going to really put up numbers until we get a line that wasn't constructed from the free agent bargain bin.

By the way, I can tell you exactly how this game will go. The Bills will score early, and then immediately give up a scoring drive to Miami. The Dolphins will outplay the Bills, but miscellaneous stupidity by Culpepper will keep the Bills in the game and might even give them the lead going into the fourth quarter. The final 10 minutes of the game will feature Ronnie Brown converting one key third down after another, and NBC will keep showing shots of our defensive linemen with their hands on their hips.

Miami by 6.

Bills 107Dolphins 2

We'll have to agree to disagree...

Culpepper and Co. will have a great day vs BUFF DEF starting 2 rookies..........especially at home. Pepp will get the crowd into the game with a long bomb to CC and then let Ronnie B finish off the Bills with a constant rush in the 2nd half.

CPepp

RBrown

CChambers

JLosman

LEvans

All will have a stellar day FFwise.

3 sacks already by the Bills against the stellar Miami O-line. :lmao: I'm just mad at myself for not starting the Buffalo defense this week.

So far the Dolphins are just completely shutting down McGahee....he is only averaging 7.75 yards per carry after 4 carries.

The Bills are just absolutely destroying Miami on the ground right now. They're averaging 9 yards per carry over these first 2 drives.

**** Jauron does not bode well for LEe Evans' numbers. So friggin conservative, but it works...

EDIT: COme on ****, what the heck kind of playcalling was that...

Miami defense tightened up when they needed to though. Looks like Willis is either needing a breather out there, the Buffalo coaching staff is trying to keep him fresh, or he's dinged up. A-Train getting a fair number of carries early on.

NFL still can't find a way to fill in the baseball field or cover it but yet we have all these fancy cameras and satellites and other technology

I just learned that JP Losman is apparently stupid because he got the ball knocked out of his hands.

GB announcers for being clueless and not able to watch replays.
