Okay folks, we are about a month away from the contest opening. Thought I would start the thread and provide some useful links.

Previous year's contest threads. I could go back further if anyone wants, but figured 3 years would be fine.

2024 contest querier - This link provides hours of fun. You can track all sorts of stuff. It still works for last year, but will eventually transition to this year at some point.

Courtesy of @ZWK here are player prices and ownership numbers going back to 2015. Thanx once again.

2024 contest rules - For those who forget the scoring format, this one's for you. You can also find the yearly prize breakdown, contest deadlines, and other legal mumbo jumbo here. I will swap out this link for the 2025 link, when it becomes available.

Thanx to @Shaunz33 for this suggestion. Here is the link to a Subscriber Contest strategy article written before the opening of the 2022 contest. A few decent tips for those new to the contest.

Courtesy of @Army Eye here is an awesome tool to track your team for the duration of the contest. Simply input your 6 digit team number and enjoy! I have no idea if Army Eye will be doing this for 2025, but the link still works for last year's contest. If you forgot your number, you can track it down using last year's Contest Entry Form page.

Reply if you have ideas for other links to be posted on the front page, or if you just want to start some discussion. Game almost on!

Last year, 218 out of 11728 teams made it to the finals. Overall contest survival rate was 1.86%.

18 - 34/5508 - 0.62%
19 - 18/1686 - 1.07%
20 - 17/1159 - 1.47%
21 - 30/863 - 3.48%
22 - 27/686 - 3.94%
23 - 14/522 - 2.68%
24 - 23/404 - 5.69%
25 - 17/306 - 5.56%
26 - 13/220 - 5.91%
27 - 9/135 - 6.67%
28 - 3/90 - 3.33%
29 - 4/58 - 6.90%
30 - 9/91 - 9.89%

The top 10 teams were:
18, 24, 26, 22, 21, 24, 27, 24, 21, 21

71.2% of the teams were made up of 18-20 players, but they made up only 31.7% of the final 218, and only 1 made the top 10. Looks like 21-24 was the sweet spot last year.

I also have these numbers in one of the tabs in my spreadsheet, along with the numbers for most other years since 2016.

Bye weeks will be much less complicated this season. Though, Bills and Ravens owning their own bye will will be interesting.

Bye weeks will be much less complicated this season. Though, Bills and Ravens owning their own bye will will be interesting.
NFL should take a page out of the F1 playbook, and pause the season for a week after Week 8 or Week 9, and every team has the same bye week. Gets rid of any unfairness complaints, gets it all over in one week, makes FF players happy, gives everyone a chance to reset. Yes, that means that there is no NFL on TV for a week, but they could fill that with mid-season recap and end of season preview programming. Rip the bye week band-aid off, NFL.

Wait, so you suggesting the NFL give up a week of TV revenue?
lol. That’s hilarious! ;)

That is a fabulous idea.

Why rostering at least 4 of the top priced D's is a great strategy
1) You have a top notch squad every week
2) Top priced D's always score loads of points
3) You always want 3 weekly options at D
4) Math says so

Wait a sec…is this Bizzaro Day?

Why rostering at least 4 of the top priced K's is a great strategy
1) When are you gonna get another chance to have guys named Brandon and Cameron on your team?
2) I heard they are adding an extra 20 points for 70 yard FG's
3) Kickers never get hurt, so may as well roster the best of the best
4) RB/WR dart throws never pan out. Spend the extra loot on the legs.

At most positions, rostering a top player will cost you around $30 or more. But a top kicker is about $7, which means that you can get 4 of them for less than the cost of a top TE or RB. That'll give you an elite unit at one position, for less than the cost of a single elite player at another position. And the same goes for defenses.

Kickers are 10% of your starting lineup, so probably you should use about 10% of your budget on them. Same for defenses.

Come on guys......oh wait.....I was gonna say stop givin out free strategy advice but, considering no one of any significance is around here to read it presently, I suppose it does not matter. I was planning on creating a new winning strategy this year anyway so the tips you have provided could be priceless this season.....for those that take advantage of them.

Always trust Rooster Math 🧮
He is crunching numbers on 10 QB advance rates. Think he cracked the code

Historically they let you keep the roster after updating the list. All you have to do is NOT change anything before the contest locks.

You're short 7 kickers. Need a minimum of 10 to have a chance

:whitecorner:
I know Jason Sehorn was a white cornerback, but what does he have to do with the Subscriber Contest?
Noob.

;)

Ps. White corner and black dot
I just learned what white corner was, and now someone throws out a black dot? What's next? Green clovers, blue diamonds, pink hearts, and orange stars?
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch the language you sick son of a blue diamond.
