Game Thread W2 - Buffalo V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Paul Puz looks like he's gonna be a pretty damn good MLB for years to come.

I know he's more of a 4-3 MLB than a 3-4 ILB, but I hope we don't regret passing on him for Timmons.

Would of liked to see some more passes in the red zone there

dont know what he saw there...that looked like a 2006 pass...holmes barely had a step on the guy and the safety was right there.

meanwhile, heath looked like he was wide open

Holmes probably could have done a little better on "defense" but yeah, that was ultimately a bad decision by Ben

I wouldn't call the Bills D a Top 10, but I think they could finish around 15-20 certainly.

Although they lost Takeo, Clements, and LFB, they're still excellent on the line with schoebel and kelsay. Puz looks like a stud, and McGee is solid.

This Leonhard guy looks like he could breakout too

Man, I rewound and watched that play that they called Tim Anderson for holding on several times and I'm totally shuked. There wasn't anything even remotely close to a hold on that play. Huge call as the Bills had stuffed the Steelers on that running play. Instead the Steelers get 5 yards and replay of down.

(Oh, and not to mention the fact that the Steelers didn't even get the play off in time. So instead of 5 yards back, the Steelers were given 5 yards forward).

This Bills team is bad enough as it is without the refs helping out.

Reed with another short FG. Roethlisberger is pretty inconsistent so far today, especially under pressure.

The Buffalo defense is at least doing a decent enough job holding them to FGs. The offense needs to put some drives together though.

Paging Lee Evans...would a Lee Evans please report for the 2007 NFL season.

This is getting silly. I know he is getting all the coverage but he was double teamed last season...maybe JP Losman is as bad as we 1st thought.

Or the refs could be making ridiculous holding calls on him. These refs are killing me. Greer was getting held by Santonio Holmes on Parker's big run on the last drive with no call. Lynch gets a measly 8 yard run and they call a joke of a holding call on Evans behind the play. It's bad enough cheering for a bad team, but when the refs are piling on it completely sucks.

So glad I drafted him over Andre Johnson.

I tried to warn everyone that Losman and Evans would get off to a slow start this year. The schedule is BRUTAL.

No need to panic now.

2006

Week 1 - 2 rec, 25 yards, 0 TDs

Week 2 - 2 rec, 19 yards, 0 TDs

Final stats for the season - 82 rec, 1292 yards, 8 TDs

Does Pitt just lose ability to play football inside of the red zone?
It definitely looks like it today. They're playing pretty well in space but once the field gets compressed the Bills are getting good pressure on Roethlisberger, and he's pretty spotty under pressure so far in this game.

That is what I figured. I keep watching the gamecast having Roth and FWP and getting disappointed as they leave the redzone with a field goal.

started evans

watching this game now... haven't heard his name except for on a holding call...

coach seems to like to run a lot...

at some point - you have to pass... right?
