Game Thread W2 - NY Jets V Baltimore (1 Viewer)

Been to a few Ravens games. That atmosphere is off the charts god for an NFL venue. Probably the best I've been to and I've been to around ten venues.

:popcorn:A lot of idiots, but a lot of fun. Beats the hell out of FedEx
FEDEX is way too big and not built well for acoustics at all. Plus I find Redskin fans very annoying.
My favorite thing about FedEx is the Papa John's commercials between offensive plays. That and paying $30 for parking.

Another one McCareins has to catch...

He lost the game for us...

Eff him, get him the eff off the team...

Garbage receiver, has done #### for us...

Put Brad Smith in there...

I don't know whether to be impressed by the Jets' 4th quarter comeback, especially after being thoroughly dominated early on, or dismayed by the Ratbirds' desultory offensive effort in the second half. That won't get it done against the elite teams of the AFC, almost all of whom they have to play later on.

Whew. The Ravens needed this one, but it got a lot closer than it appeared it'd be early on. The Jets could have quit (like the Giants did, but kept battling. Clemens took a beating today, but showed poise & grit in the 4th quarter.

What a whacky day in the NFL.

Agreed... same old lethargic Ravens in the second half. No chance against the Patriots, Colts or Chargers.

Billick drives me crazy. And I'm sure he drives his D crazy too, because he puts them in awful situations way too many times.

McCareins with 2 inexcusable drops. Both hit him directly in the hands and ANY NFL-caliber WR should have caught them.

Period.

Thinking about it a little more, we have to give credit to the way Clemens moved the team smartly downfield late in the game. He'd been hit from every angle through 3 quarters but kept hanging in back there and pitching strikes. Granted, the Ravens were probably backing off some but even then you gotta make the plays they give you and he was doing that. The Jets are still a little undermanned in the difficult AFC but they're well-coached and appear to be headed for consistent competitiveness.

I have just stopped throwing things around my living room. Cotchery and Clemens deserve kudos for todays game. I make McCareins walk home from Baltimore. Bum.

For the second week in a row, he barely got any touches. This really surprises me considering 1) he's easily the most explosive player on the offense and 2) In the preseason, Mangini seemed to allude to making sure both RBs were going to get touches, yet it's been pretty much all Jones so far through 2 weeks. This team has had trouble moving the ball, albeit against two great defenses, but I'm really surprised they haven't gotten any screen passes to Leon to allow him to make some moves in the open field and get the ball moving.

Thomas Jones is an excellent pass-blocker for a RB and equally adept at receiving out of the backfield. Being down big in both games has forced the Jets to throw a lot and run a lot of "trickery type" run plays like draws. TJ will be on the field in passing situations due to his blitz pickups. Leon will play a lot in closer games, TJ will play a lot more in games where the defense is playing with a big lead and pinning their ears back going after the QB.

Jets homer.
