I think the low ranking is more than fair. I don't know what else to say other than that. Our DEs are either hurt or got pushed around last year. Q is alone in the middle for the most part. Sauce can't tackle. Our LBs are very good, but it's not a premium position. So we have a NT or DI and a good LB corps with one CB and one nickel back.
On offense, we have a QB nobody seems to think can hack it, an RB coming off a questionable year, one WR1 and then nothing at 2 or 3, what seems like a very promising OL, and a promising TE draft pick.
There's a lot we don't have cemented. No offense to you and optimism RAGE, but I'm not sure I can get too worked up about ESPN's ranking. I don't see more than a six or seven win season. I also see the organization turning around. We're going to have to take our lumps this year. That seems apparent to me. The real question is how do we handle it? I think patience is in order. Instead of a knee-jerk reaction, we need to trust Mougey and Glenn for more than a year before Woody comes stomping back in and ruining continuity and chain of command stuff.
That's going to be the real test—not whether we win eight or six games.
If I’m the Jets I’m calling Kirk Cousins agent right now
So that sounds like missing some of camp/preseason but likely ready for Week 1.Toe injury. Severity unknown yet.

Despite this, I still think the best course of action is to jump to conclusions and panic when things like this happen. And he's back already - victim to the minute by minute coverage and clickbait era - when i was a kid it would have been a casual mention on the 6pm news as no big deal. We all love the news on demand era but sometimes this is the problem. Regardless - bullet seems to be dodged.

I quickly sold Russell Wilson to the Fields owner. And while there's no reason to panic, I thought it only prudent that we make preparations to panicDespite this, I still think the best course of action is to jump to conclusions and panic when things like this happen. And he's back already - victim to the minute by minute coverage and clickbait era - when i was a kid it would have been a casual mention on the 6pm news as no big deal. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...n-the-practice-field-one-day-after-toe-injuryBut Fields is already back on the practice field today, and reporters on the scene say he’s jogging without a limp. Although Fields is sitting out some of the quarterback drills, there’s nothing about the way he’s moving that would indicate his injury is a concern. Officially, the Jets have described Fields as day-to-day with a dislocated toe.
That's just the crows pecking at your neck as you fly higher....or something like that. Will McDonald looking great so far - reporters notices him using new moves - asked AG how that happened - he smile and goes "coaching" - man Im optimistic they finally have a competent HC and staff.
My favorite coach of all time was Parcells - you can see his influence all over AG and staff.Fields is back 11 on 11. Live tackling today. Rosenblatt called it the most physical practice in years. Cimini said it has been football like it's meant to be played.
You gotta love AG. Actual fundamental drills and not just t-shirts and slogans.
You had AVT talking about how their has been no accountability from the prior coaching staffs until now. A lot of the players mentioning how different things are now and have everyone has bought in. Even AG mentioned the improvement in coaching (no humble pie for Glenn).
Hopefully this all results in wins, but you can't help believe that we will finally look like a real team after being such a joke year after year.

I have no doubt that the prior regime was awful for various reasons. But I kinda wish the players would just kinda shut up about it.. I know that they're being asked questions, but they should be deflecting rather than explicitly throwing them under the bus.
Focus on the positive and moving forward, not taking shots at the fired coaches to cover up your crappy performance
They're (mainly saleh and ulbrich, who were good dudes) not able to defend themselves and the players lost those games too.
But feel free to crap on Hackett. That's fine.
