*** Game Thread W3 - Atlanta vs New Orleans *** (1 Viewer)

if NO goes 7-6 in remaining 13 games, that would put them at 10-6 & maybe good enough for wildcard... some of these rookie HC are doing well... payton 3-0, childress & linehan 2-1...

1. Vick is not accurate2. The Atlanta WRs/TEs are getting no separation3. They're dropping too many passesall contributed somewhat equally IMHO
And the Falcons are much better when they can run and are leading or at least trailing by only one score. when teams know they must pass, it's almost never pretty.
I don't know. NO had no respect for those WRs. Did you see all the man coverage with no safety?Where is SSOG to tell us about how Lelie is the best deep threat in the league. Even in the 4th, they were jamming them, with no safety help, at the line. Wtf? How can they not get open at all? Double move? Slants? I don't think I remember a play where a WR was wide open. In most games, there's a wide open target every few plays. Someone on the Falcon offense has to step up, and make some plays. No wonder Vick throws to Crumpler so much. Jenkins/White looked AVERAGE. You can't tell me White would start for any NFL team, and Jenkins might be a WR2 on 3-4 teams, at most. Falcons have three WR3s. At least throw Hall out there. He at least has the speed to force the DBs to play off him. It was so obvious tha the Dbs wanted it more. They fought harder, ran faster, and attacked the ball. ATLs Wrs came up very small. All that being said, Crumpler hanging onto that TD catch would have changed the game.Bottom line, NO was flying high, and wanted it more. Falcons just wilted under the pressure, they never could match NOs intensity.

As a Vick owner I was dying tonight. I have never seen so many dropped passes in my life. It was a horrific display. Alge Crumpler dropped a sure Touchdown catch. Jenkins and White dropped a bevy as well. Sure Vick didn't play great, but his stats look a lot worse than he played.

As for the game, this was the Falcons "Kobayashi Maru," a no-win scenario. I am a Missouri Tigers fan, and I saw the same thing happen a few years back when the Tigers played Oklahoma State after a tragic plane accident. We all saw this when Piazza hit that home run against the Braves in the first game in New York after 9/11. The Saints played perfect football, and bad fluke plays went against Atlanta.

:goodposting: it was the ultimate ambush game, and the falcons aren't SO good that they could absorb the huge wave of emotion. they would have had to play a near-perfect game. the blocked kick was the death knell though...it was bye bye after that. :bye:
