Game Thread W4 - Cleveland V Oakland (1 Viewer)

Are you Winslow owners concerned that Jurevicius has one TD, and was targeted on another?

And the game is over.

*sigh* I had hopes after that Frye INT in the last few minutes.

This game, the Niners game and the Texans game I really thought even the Raiders would have a shot in. Oh well.

Their defense looked solid for at the beginning of the game, but after a while, the Browns were moving at will on them. Unless they get things together, they could make a real run at 0-16.

Oh and since I was sort of paying attention to the game, I guess I should summarize.

Walters is terrible. He can heave the deep ball decently, but is realtively inaccurate at hitting any recievers.

Lamont Jordan is good when he has room to work with, which won't be much this season.

Moss is a waste with these idiots for QB's, his lack of work ethic cost us a TD in this game though. It didn't seem like he was trying his hardest to get away from defenders for much of the game.

The entire offensive line didn't look as putrid as last week, but overall was still a rotating door.

Our defense was pretty good at keeping the passes short and putting pressure on Frye the entire game. The run D wasn't too hot though, 4 ypc isn't something you want to be giving up to freaking Droughns. Eventually though they just collapsed, sad, but as stated above not really unexpected.

Special teams was awful beyond words. Those punt and kick returns by Cle. absolutely destroyed us.

On the Cle side.

Frye looks really good with any pass under 10 yards. He made a number of quick accurate hits to recievers. He still has an awful decision making process though. Everytime he's in real trouble, instead of eating a loss or looking to throw the ball out of bounds, he heaves it up and hopes somebody on his team will come down with it. This rarely seems to be the result though.

Droughns played well when he was in. Nothing special, but he pounded the ball pretty well the entire game.

Not much to say about the Cle recievers, I wasn't paying that close attention to them. Other than JJ's great catch, I didn't see a heckuva lot out of them.

Ah well.

:goodposting: Get Moss a real QB, Walter belongs in the CFL

That could be good analysis, but I think that's an awful lot of definitive statements to make off of just one game. Just because some players or units looked good or bad today, that isn't enough to do that.

As far as the fantasy outlook for the Browns, the situation really hasn't changed. Frye continues to get hit a lot. A wide-open offense with Frye slinging it around to Edwards and Winslow will get Frye killed. The Browns will have to let the talent of those players go to waste to some degree because the pass protection isn't nowhere near good enough to use them to their fullest. Instead, they will have to keep guys in to block, or throw short fast passes.

So, you know, temper your enthusiasm for the Browns offensive fantasy prospects.

i disagree. he ate a lot of losses. he only had one play where he heaved it up, which was a very bad decision. fortunately it didn't cost us the game like it did last week.

i don't understand why Winslow isn't on the field more. he should be on the field every offensive play.

he totally changed the outcome of the game the part of the one drive he was in and targeted. converted i believe a 4th down and then caught the TD.

completely baffling he isn't a bigger part of the game plan.

:loco:

That might have been the dumbest pass I've ever seen in my life.
he's going as Brett Favre for Halloween.eta: i fully expect him to continue having at least one terrible pass per game. unfortunately, that's part of a 2nd year QB with a questionable line. hopefully they won't always affect the outcome of the game.

I've watched all of the Raiders games so far and most of the ones from last season, so I feel reasonably compelled to make those statmenets about them. However the Cle statements were based purely on the basis of this one game and the bits of Frye I saw vs. Baltimore. Sorry that I didn't make that clear. It was just what I saw from this one game with them, I didn't mean to make it sound like that was the end all be all to them.
