Game Thread W4 - Detroit V Dallas (1 Viewer)

Did no one understand that it was 4th down? Joe Buck talking about picking up a quick few yards to set up a hail mary, then Felix does exactly that

So much for the 2-horse race in the North. Lions aren't ready. You don't get steamrolled by an average team if you're ready to take the next step.
Lions 4-0....Packers notnot sure you know what steamrolled means.
:lmao: Really? Did you watch the game? The Lions had very little to do with winning it. You had the advantage of playing Romo in THE most epic choke in Dallas history (seriously, it's a fact). They were pretty much steamrolled.

I've been working on the road in Dallas since this summer.....sports talk in Dallas is a whole lot more amusing when the Cowboys lose....losing like this it's going to be awesome.

I never, EVER agree with _mx, but you're out of your gourd. A team doesn't collapse unless another team is there to capitalize. They had help from bad Dallas play, but they won. Saying they got steamrolled is probably the dumbest thing this board will read today.

Exactly my point. Any team would have won this game with Romo playing the way he did. Detroit was the beneficiary, but they won't be able to play against self-destructing QBs very often.

Watching the Lions win makes me happy. Sucks for Dallas fans, but they are the feel good story of the NFL so we should just enjoy it!

did anybody know that was 4th down? didn't look like the cowboys, lions, or announcers knew it

They play in the NFC North...Cutler, Mcnabb and Freeman. There is plenty of self destruction in the group.

No, not anybody. Did you see how many amazing plays, including the go ahead TD, the Lions made? You gotta have a team that can take advantage of it. It's true that Dallas gave this away, but not a lot of teams could've overcome THAT much of a hole.

not that play chief...the last play for the cowboys

No, at the end of the game when Felix ran out of bounds to stop the clock with 4 seconds left so Romo would have a shot at a hail mary... on fifth? down

Additionally, when he ran out of bounds with a clear path to the 1st...

I'm not suggesting Detroit is a bad team. Not at all. But I'm getting tired of folks comparing them to Green Bay simply because both were 3-0. Now that they'll both be 4-0 it will be ad nauseum. Folks who watched the game know Detroit should not be 4-0, but the drama machine will be churning nonetheless. Detroit looked outmatched today if not for a few ridiculous plays by Romo, and another amazing few plays from Calvin. Not trying to tick anyone off, but that's the way I see it.

You sound like a Notre Dame football fan. What matters is wins and losses, and the Lions are 4-0. I don't care what should have happened, how it happened, etc. It happened. They are one of the youngest teams in football and will get better as the season goes on and their confidence grows.

They are not as good of a team as GB but to suggest they shouldn't be 4-0 is stupid. They made the plays to win when they had to.

It's the insistence that they got steamrolled that's ridiculous, not anything else you just posted. HTH.

The Lions already have three road wins this season. I really don't think they won three road games in the last decade.

How many wins are they going to have to rattle off for you to be convinced they're a damn good team? Hell, they've only been stacking top 5 picks for the past decade, you had to assume once they got someone just halfway competent running the joint, they'd be a force.ROAR RESTORED!

I always wondered what would happen when Detroit played an NFL team.
You jumped the gun a bit last week, I figured you might hold out for a bit longer today.
Based on past seasons, you can expect it every week. And when the Bears are losing badly, he drops out of the thread and goes shoe shopping.

Twice a year I have an all-day charity event in my neighborhood. Today was that day, so I set my FF lineup at 7 a.m. and had no tv or internet all day.

Zipping through the game now (aleady know the score)while reading this thead.

This highly entertaining thread.

that roughing penalty may have done the lions in...
Dallas will bracket Calvin here. Gonna have to be Burleson and Best over the middle the rest of the way...
 Good stuff, guys.

I'm not sure which posts better; the Is Anyone Else Concerned About Calvin This Week threads, or the Game Over Lions Are Toast from in-game.

I do believe Stafford is a bit like the Hall of Famer who went to his high school. He never loses. Some weeks he might run out of time. But don't ever doubt John Matthew. That kid is something special.

WOW WHAT A TEAM!!!
