Game Thread W4 - New England V Cincinnati (1 Viewer)

Who dey come to git dare whoopin? who dey?

Who dey?

Let's hear gold maxi pad head's comments now. F-ing no name secondary keeping his mouth shut.

The big runs are going to make the Pats hell to game plan for and make Brady that much more effective. This has been a huge showing by the Pats.

GB the double-standard of racist jokes being OK if it's against a white guy. OK people who watched, wtf happened to Cincy?

That "little white guy" damn near killed Caldwell. That "penalty" turned the game around.Bengals need the bye week. Injuries and suspension have taken their toll. The depth at LB is shot. They need Braham back at center big time.

:lmao: at stiller homers watching the bengals game.

cleveland is breathing down your neck dumbasses, talk to us when you're out of the basement. you're not even on our level right now.

Unfortunately, since I live in Ohio, I don't have a choice. It was nice to see the true Bungles play. I thought this was supposed to be the passing of the AFC torch to the Bungles???Did it pass? :lmao:

1 Palmer getting so-so protection. Inconsistent with accuracy. Holding the ball too long hoping to make something happen but not taking care of the ball when he gets hit.2 Team misses Rich Braham's leadership, line calls, run blocking, blitz pickups. On the plus side, Eric Ghiaciuc is getting some valuable experience against very complicated defenses. But it's an issue.3 Kelley Washington <> Chris Henry. Big play ability was missed big time today.4 LBs are horrible against the run. Not physical, can't tackle, out of position. Expect Ahmad Brooks to get coached up in an hurry over the bye week.5 Secondary has holes. Madieu Williams isn't tackling well. Team needs Dexter Jackson. And Tory James will continue to be exposed, especially on the outside. Don't be surprised if Jonathan Joseph gets the call coming out of the bye. It's not a panic move -- he's better in coverage and much more physical in run support.6 Too many penalties.7 Intangibles this week. Kaesviharn flagged for the unnecessary roughness hit was a big letdown for the team. Finally showed some physical presence and the flag changed the complexion of the defense and the drive. From that point on, the Pats owned the LOS. Also, Marvin's decision not to go for it on fourth down inside the 40 down eight with a defense that was cracking was just as telling as going for it inside their own 30 against Pittsburgh. Didn't like this week's decision at all. There are more little issues, but those are the big ones to my eyes. Many of them are carryover issues from last week's ugly win. Still a whole lot of good here, though. 3-1 into the bye against this schedule missing a couple of key cogs is a very nice start. Can't help but wonder if Bengals fans may look back to Week 4 and Marty Ball giving away a game to the Ravens at year's end while the Bengals laid an egg at home if the division slips away after getting a quick headstart on the perceived biggest competition Pittsburgh.

4 games into the season?yea, you're definitely a stiller fan. have about 50 more beers dude.
Seriously, though. You can't tell me that you are NOT worried about Palmer and the rest of the Bungles. Chad looks like he's lost... Palmer can't hold on to the ball and the defense can't stop the run. And I do agree with you... It is only four games into the season. Take your shots on the Steelers now while you can. The quarterback who comes back to reality first will win. Ben or Palmer... It's a toss up.

Nobody knows the basement like the Bengals! In sole possession of the division basement for 20 years! LOL. :lmao:
GB stiller fans hanging onto the past.how many of those great playoff appearances did cowher and the stillers cash in during our 20 years in the basement?

I think a lot of it has to do with Rich Braham getting healthy.

I am much more concerned about the Ravens stealing one from the Chargers than I am of the Steelers rising from the ashes to be a title contender. Smart money says Steelers drop to 1-3 next week.

I am going to ignore all of this stupid chest pumping. At this point I don't think the Steelers or Bengals look very good. The one thing that is definitely true is the Bengals absolutely must improve their run defense or they will not go far in the playoffs.

:goodposting: Bengals fans should be concerned that they've allowed almost 400 yards and 5 TDs on the ground in their past two games.Steeler fans should be concerned that today the Jaguars allowed 36 points to the Redskins and the Bengals gave up 38 points to the Patriots. Looks like these defenses weren't as good as the Steelers offense made them appear to be.

Two Super Bowl appearances and one world championship is A-okay in my book  :thumbup:How many great playoff appearances did the Bungles cash in on in their existence??

I was sure that Cin was going to blow NE out of the stadium. Boy was I surprised. I'm a NE homer and I support this message.
:goodposting: I would have bet the house on Cincy for a blowout in this game. Cincy has more talent I think, but they were out-coached and out-played. Maybe it's a sign that all those outside distractions really do affect a team. Odell Thurman having a TO style meltdown definately didn't help their run defense.

:goodposting: Both should be concerned at this point, but not too concerned. It's not how you start the season, but how you finish it, as demonstrated by Pittsburgh last year. Cincy needs to find some guys to step up at the LB spot for the guys that are out and Pitt needs Big Ben to get back in a rythym and another receiver besides Ward and Miller to be consistent. Pittsburgh might wanna try lining up FWP at wr and putting Haynes or Davenport back at rb. Baltimore is a 4-0 team, but only on paper, they aren't at an elite level yet, but could easily pass Pitt and Cincy if they don't get their acts together. The Browns have some emerging stars, but are still only a .500 team.

All the talk is about the NE RB's and Maroney specifically. He was great today. However, the Pats SHUT DOWN the Cincy offense missing their nickel cornerback and starting Free Safety. Pretty impressive effort.

I'm worried about the rushing defense, but Palmer is actually one of the last things that I'm concerned about. The pocket collapsed on him a number of times, while Brady had ALL ####### DAY to throw the ball. The game was decisively lost at the line of scrimmage today.I watched the game and I think any quarterback could be forgiven for the fumbles that Palmer had today, as they had much more to do with protection than ball security. And while we're at it I wouldn't be too concerned with Roethlisberger if I were a Steelers fan anyway.

I had a sneaky feeling the Bengals would be, for lack of a better term, exposed today. If nothing else I loved the Pats getting 6 after a loss...

I agree with GB...The Bengals are going nowhere fast if their run defense doesn't do a 180 and fast.

Why does every Bengal arrest/screw up/big home loss thread get turned into a Steeler hate-fest? Just step up to the mike and take your medicine.

Cincy has one of the best O-lines in football, they had a bad day, but I'm not concerned about Palmer.

FYI, the week before, the Steelers sacked Palmer 6x. Did they have 2 bad days in a row?

Pats commit to a 4-2 nickle to take away the passing game and Cincinnati refuses to take what the other team is giving and continues to try to pass. This SHOULD HAVE been a huge day for Rudi.

BAD coaching on the Bengals' part.

That whole O-line was holding the entire first quarter of the game, and I don't recall the refs calling it once (I was making dinner at the time, but every time I walked over I saw them grabbing and holding the Pats D-line). Once they stopped holding, their technique was just AWFUL and the Patriots defense just started coming through (Mostly Jarvis Green and Colvin). Yeah that O-line would worry me if I was a Bengals fan.In other news, the Patriots O-line looked AMAZING. That young talent sure is paying off. They were pass blocking and opening gigantic holes, and the downfield blocking was great too (on that Maroney TD scamper up the middle, a HUGE block was thrown downfield and opened his way to the endzone).
