Game Thread W4 - Washington V Dallas (1 Viewer)

Good 2nd quarter for Washington.

Last year, Dallas was considered a 2nd half team. So far this season, they haven't needed the 2nd half too often, I'm hoping they still have that same 2nd half mentality as they did last year.

gotta be happy with holding the redskins to a fg and scoring a fg after starting out at the 16yd line

Correct....if you're a Redskin fan you have to be happy you have the lead versus Dallas but as a Dallas fan, this could be worse. That ball to Moss was underthrown as he was gone for a TD. It could have easily been 21-7 there. Then on that 3rd down for Dallas at the start of their 2 minute drive, it looked as if Romo would get stopped and he scrambled for that TD and there was a lot of time on the clock still for Washington to move the ball if Dallas would have had to punt.Dallas was dominated in the 2nd quarter, I'm happy it's only 17-10 to be honest.

I don't know what it is about WAS but DAL always seems out of position on defense. S. Moss always seems to be wide open and it always seems extremely laborious for DAL to move the ball offensively. WAS is just outplaying us in every phase of the game. But alas, there is another half to go so maybe just maybe DAL finds something they can use in the 2nd half to a) generate consistent offense and b) get pressure on the QB defensively. In the meanwhile more beer is required.

Cheers to all! :moneybag:

Campbell looks VERY comfortable after that first couple of series where he had little time to throw. If the continues to get time to throw, I think the Skins win this game. And that would be a VERY impressive win.

:moneybag:We haven't seen the Cowboys' best football in this game yet. The 'Skins are going to have to weather a 2nd half storm and score more points to win this game. Still, I'm pretty impressed that they're up at the half after both falling behind 7-0, and also not getting any turnovers.

I hope all these plays Portis is taking off means he well-rested for the second half. He's looked pretty good so far. If he can get a few cracks to run through, he could be huge.

Jerry Jones likes to go down to the sidelines from the owner's box for the 2nd half. I always hated those things -- he has a way of motivating the team.

if JJ is on the field they're going to lose

I agree with Aikman - the kickoff was too cute. The coverage on kickoffs had been great, and Suisham's leg has been solid this year.

Ya, they've been kind of pinning Jones deep in the left corner. As he said I don't get it.....maybe they thought Dallas had a trick play to start the half, I don't know.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen Dallas defensive players not wrap up the QB when it looks as if they all but have a sack.

Lucky that on 2 Td's, Washington had penalties.

So can anyone attempt to justify the holding call on Portis' TD run? I have DVR and have watched it a few times and still see absolutely nothing.

That happened a lot against Philly too, but I attributed it to McNabb's elusiveness. Maybe they're afraid of black quarterbacks.

Campbell is another McNabb, generally speaking. Not quite as mobile as McNabb is (though it's pretty close), but also a more accurate passer. But they're very similar, especially in this offense.
