Game Thread W5 - Tennessee V Dallas (1 Viewer)

How the #### is that a 'celebration' penalty?!?! Witten gave the ball to Columbo to spike it. And they throw a flag?!?

Talk about the refs wanting to determine the game. Come on!

If it's any consolation, I don't think the penalty was much of a factor as poor special teams was on that kickoff.

Celebration? You have got to be kidding me.
I thought there was a firm rule against celebrations that involve multiple players.
Yeah, but it's a stupid rule. Granted, the Cowboys just choked and gave up a gigantic return so it doesn't really matter now, but still. I can't see a reason to have the outcomes of games determined by piddling stuff like this.
Lions fans would agree with you.

It's a rule. It's a dumb rule IMHO, but it's a rule. Also, did Chris Johnson just do the T.O. star celebration on the Dallas star in the end zone?

I was actually thinking along those lines. Its as if the NFL has deliberately come up with a bunch of random rules to increas the statistical noise associated with their games.

Romo is doing his best to lose this game.
Is this serious?
Are you watching it? Over the past few minutes he's done his best to throw a pick. Tenn defenders just can't catch.
400 yards, three touchdowns, one pick off a receiver's hands and another one deflected. But because he can't drive the team down for another touchdown under constant pressure, he wants to lose or he sucks. Understood.

Witten gets no separation, drops passes, bats balls up in the air that are then intercepted. Dumb team celebration - that's been a rule for two years. He's a big part of the reason they have three losses.

Hey, I like Romo, but today he did his best Jay Cutler impression. He had no business throwing some of those balls that were picked. Sure, the defense allowing 34 points puts you in a tough spot, but some of Romo's INTs came when the game was close and they were just horrible decisions.

 I think he's a good QB. I was just commenting on the last few series, where he was throwing the ball directly to Titan defenders. It wasn't just one poor read, I think he did it 4 times or so in the past 4 minutes.

When you face an NFL defense, and you have to score, and your running game is taken away so that there is no possibility of play action, needless to say it is a very difficult task. Even the very best QBs ever are going to be less than 50% in that situation. The liklihood of throwing interceptions is very good.

It's far less than 50% when you're trying to lose the game.I just get tired of the blame heaped on Romo regardless of circumstances or his performance in a game. It gets so old. Of the reasons the Cowboys lost this game, Romo's play is at the bottom of the list. At the top would be stupid penalties, poor defense, and a few simple bad breaks.

This is untrue. I think many people saw studies showing Montana and a few others actually had increased their QB rating under similar situations that you describe.

Tim likes to make these "facts" up, he thinks it helps his arguements.
