Game Thread W6 - Minnesota V Chicago (1 Viewer)

Hey, I'm a Bears fan. Just let me know which of these games the Bears will win with Orton in there:

7 Sun, Oct 23 Baltimore Tickets CBS 4:15 PM [The same Ravens that laid an egg @ the Lions last week?]

8 Sun, Oct 30 at Detroit Tickets FOX 1:00 PM Any game vs. Lions can be won

9 Sun, Nov 6 at New Orleans Tickets FOX 4:05 PM Anyone's game. Saints have no home

10 Sun, Nov 13 San Francisco Tickets FOX 1:00 PM See Lions

11 Sun, Nov 20 Carolina Tickets FOX 1:00 PM Only barely squeaked out win @ Lions. Not to mention, we'll have to see how healthy Delhomme is

12 Sun, Nov 27 at Tampa Bay Tickets FOX 1:00 PM Just hope Orton survives

13 Sun, Dec 4 Green Bay Tickets FOX 1:00 PM See Lions

14 Sun, Dec 11 at Pittsburgh Tickets FOX 1:00 PM See Tampa game.

15 Sun, Dec 18 Atlanta Tickets ESPN 8:30 PM Can win at home

16 Sun, Dec 25 at Green Bay Tickets FOX 5:00 PM See Lions

17 Sun, Jan 1 at Minnesota Tickets FOX 1:00 PM See Lions
They've got a realistic shot at winning every one save for Tampa & Pitt IMO.There defense is good enough to keep them in every game. No one has asked Orton to win games.

8-8 may very well win this division. Hell 7-9 might. The best thing about the Bears outlook this year is their schedule & division.
 :goodposting:

The fallacies are:

- Orton needs to win games for the Bears

- The Bears need to win 8 more games

The most important factor is that the Bears have to keep pace with the Lions and Packers. Oh yeah, and the love boat Vikes. I just don't see that being a tough task, despite games against CAR, PIT, and TB (as well as BAL and ATL, tough games to win). The Bears have been beaten badly once thus far, and one has to hope that Orton will only improve... though you can't be TOO hopeful!

Now I know I'm dreaming...

Desmond Clark - 2 Td's...yeah right, cmon.
That's what I said. I want to know whatever he did during the past week that magicially allowed him to catch the ball.
Lovie was quoted this week saying they wanted to "air it out" a bit more. While 2 yd and 3 yd passes are not exactly "airing it out" they did show another dimension at the goal line rather than pounding Jones in there...although I certainly would have liked Jones to get those two TDs. ;)

There's absolutely NO DOUBT that Orton looked better in this game. Much better. He still annoyed the CRAP out of me when he fumbled on one play, can't avoid sacks, etc. like most other QBs, but at least he's not throwing a Culpepper-style INT instead...

Question to Bears fans - would you rather be just good enough to win a bad division and lose in the 1st round of the playoffs or just be plain terrible and get a higher draft pick?Jets fan here, debating on the latter.

Are you serious? I would actually argue that - unless you have a completely obvious high pick - it's BETTER to have a lower draft pick in terms of value vs. impact on your salary cap. There was a study done that was very interesting, indicating that the 39th pick in the NFL draft is THE most valuable pick due to what the contract value will be. So, in many ways, having that top 10 pick can bite you in the #### when you then guarantee a guy that is unproven to a $30+ million contract.

On top of that, winning - and losing - are both contagious.
