Doubt it. This was a good-looking offense at the beginning of the season. Then AJ got hurt week 2. We still looked decent against the Colts week 3, but we lost McKinney at C. Since then, we have not been able to run the ball AT ALL. The offensive line and pass protection started to fall apart and has gotten really bad since then, and this is a different team. Schaub has been taking a beating the last few weeks, and this is not a winnable game. I don't really put the blame on him the way the season's going, but he's starting to take a David Carr-like beating and I don't want him to get "ruined" like Carr is...

Charger fans have to be giddy over Cromartie's performance thus far. When the Bolts took him at 19 last year, they knew it would be this year before he really began to play up to his potential after the knee injury. They've been waiting for a coming out party like this from him all year - his physical skills are off the charts.
If he's ready to become the type of corner his physical abilities suggest he can be, the Chargers are legit Super Bowl contenders.

SD plays Indy in two weeks (the week after the Colts big matchup with NE). They could beat Indy with how they're playing now. They probably started too slowly to get a week off for the playoffs, but I could see them being a pain in the playoffs for someone. They could finish as the 4 seed (behind the big 2 and Pittsburgh) and travel to NE (if they're seed one) and set up one hell of a revenge game. What would be sweeter for you Charger fans than to travel to NE and give them a big return punch in the face during their "dream season?"Might be wishful thinking, but hey, it COULD happen...

No doubt. It's crystal clear at this point that NE is the best team in football, but teams often peak too early - the 2006 Chargers are a perfect example.

Cheap shot by Florence on an INT return, knocked him out with what looked like a pretty bad concussion type thing, if Schaub sitting on the sideline for the rest of the half holding his head in his hands means anything.

The defense hasn't stopped the Texans, the Texans have stopped the Texans. Lots of unforced errors.And just about every throw by Rivers has been a duck. At least he's not turning it over.

I know they put pressure on us b/c we can't pass-protect against anyone. That's why Schaub threw those picks and why he's dizzy on the sideline (well, that and Drayton Florence taking a whack at him).I agree the Colts still look better. However, Harrison's a non-factor now. SD is usually pretty tough on the run. Wayne and Clark are studs, but if you can pound LT and Turner in their faces and give Manning the same kinda hell with that 3-4 you did a couple of years ago, you've got a shot at home....

Are you watching the game where the texans have 340 total yards in offense to the Chargers' 235 and the Texans have had the ball for 35 minutes to the Chargers' 19? The one where the Charger D can't get off the field unless the Texans turn it over? That's the one I'm seeing.If the Chargers were playing a good team they'd quite possibly be losing right now.

No offense but none of those numbers matter b/c the game was over early in the second quarter. This is 2 and half quarters of garbage time. When you score of defense you have to go right back out and play defense...

It was the same in the first half. The Texans were getting 5 to 7 yards on 1st down way too much.All the Chargers' starters were still in on offense except for LaDainian - 3 and out.Nice punt by Scifres.

Yeah...he's a bit less relevant this season. Last year they needed him to score in order to win. This year he's had one monster game, two good games and 4 mediocre to crappy games. His Oakland game doubles the top score of his second highest scoring game. I'm not entirely sure what is going on but 50-60% of last year is not what most people expected. 4 of his next 6 games are against the top run defenses in the league: JAX, BAL, MIN and TEN. I predict 74/242/2 9/60/0 in those 4 games.
The Chargers averaged 5.9 yards per play while the Texans averaged 4.9 yards per play -- including garbage time (when Rosenfels passed and Rivers kneeled).The Texans had almost twice as many offensive plays because they had a few extra possessions.

Two completely blown coverages against Gates accounted for most of that. And even then Rivers almost ####ed up the first TD to Gates with an awful throw. I'm happy they got the win, but it wasn't as dominant and wasn't as great a performance overall as the score would indicate.

Yeah but the Chargers weren't playing full bore the second half. LT had I think 1 series in the 2nd half, maybe 2. They certainly didn't play the second half with the same offensive philosophy as they did in the first. They could've easily played like the Pats and put up 50+ on these guys.
