Game Thread W9 - Miami V Chicago (1 Viewer)

FWIW All the radio shows were talking about Monday thru Wednesday this week were quotes from Joey Harrington and Ronnie Brown about how the Bears didn't scare him.

Alot of radio hosts in Chicago wondering outloud why the Dolphins would be calling the Bears out like that...

Im not saying, Im just saying.......

How about Jason Taylor..."They bleed like us and they can be beaten just like we have," Taylor said. "It's as simple as that. We'll go up there and get after them. It's not going to take a miracle to beat this team. I'm sorry. I'll give the Bears their respect -- they're a good football team with a lot of the top players at their positions. But we're not playing the '72 Dolphins or the All-Madden team on the video game. These guys can be beaten; it's as simple as that. I give them respect, but, sorry guys, that's about it. We're still going to go up there to do what we have to do."Posted from my IDP Team Page provided by FBG.

You wanna crown them, then crown their ###.

I think it will be a closer game than most think, but I'm a homer - just like with the Cardinals game, I could see the Dolphins hanging in longer than they should, esp. since they are coming off a bye week and are well rested on defense.

I have seen oit over an dover this year where the Dolphins D hold teams down through three quarters and then just lose it. Wouldn't be surprised if the Bears are up by less than 10 points heading into the 4th.

Though, I am always inclined to give the 'phins the benefit of the doubt on Sat. night.

It will be a close game..Why? Because most dont think so...Welcome to the NFL :pics:
Most didn't think SF-Bears would be close, either, and guess what--in the NFL, good teams still blow out bad teams most of the time.

We don't have to look back much further than Indianapolis v. Tennessee. What was the point spread there, 18.5?If you can, explain this sequence:
Code:
Oct 8 N.Y. Jets Won 41-0	Week 6 BYE Oct 22 @Houston Lost 7-27	Oct 29 @Philadelphia Won 13-6

This theory seemed to work for Leinhart and the Cards. I mean, they didn't win, but they sure played them well enough after boasting that they weren't scared of the Bears all week. What do the phins have to lose?

Well I have so much confidence in the dolphins hanging tough that I'm starting W Lundy over R Brown for my #3 RB. Having done that the dolphins will probably win and Brown will score twice.

agreed - outward displays can breed internal confidence.I think the Bears would be reaching to use the opposing team's belief that it can beat them as bulletin board fodder. What are they supposed to say? "The Bears defense is ferociuous, we should just punt every series and hope for turnovers"

I would lose all respect for Taylor if he came out and said "I expect us to go to Chi-town and get slaughtered. If we score at all it will be a miracle and it is a well known fact that our defense couldn't stop a Pop Warner team after a pizza party."

I would certainly hope that he is geared up for this game and having some faith in his team.

That being said, I still think the Bears will whip up on them pretty bad.

The blueprint for beating the Bears has already been developed.

Get ahead. Pressure Grossman enough to get him to hand you the game on a platter. Avoid turning it over to them for defensive scores. Position your punts to prevent Hester from hurting you.

Only the Cards and Vikes have been able to get a lead. (9ers were down 10-0 before their offense ran a play) Neither was able to avoid 4th quarter turnovers and/or special teams lapses. It also helps to play them on the road where Rexy tends to self destruct. He's been a different player at home.

Sight seen: Brian Urlacher talking with an uncomfortable Joey Harrington before the game. Urlacher was grinning. :lmao:

We suck and we are going to get smashed. This team does not have a pulse right now.

Bears 31 Phins 13

I live in chicago and can say for certain this is a "trap" game for da bears.

NOONE here is even paying attention to Miami here. Its like we expect Miami to just lay down take their beating and leave. Which is why IMO Chicago is ripe for a strong showing at least by the other team. Not only that I actually think Miami wins this game outright ! My projections

Grossman - 220 yards 1 TD 2 INT

Harrington - 320 yards 3 TD's 3 INT

RB's

T. Jones - 80 yards 0 td

C. Benson - 25 yards 0 td

R. Brown - 70 yards ru 80 yards rec 1 TD

WR's

Mushy 3 rec 30 yards 1 TD

C. Chambers 10 rec 120 yards 2 TD's

M. Booker 5 rec 50 yards

TE's

D. Clark - 6 rec 80 yards 1 TD

R. McMicheal - 3 rec 55 yards

K

Mare 0/1 fgs 3/3 xpt

Defense

1 INT TD for bears

0 TD for Miami

Final score - 23 - 21 Bears win on last minute field goal.

I think the "trap" game for the Bears has passed...see Arizona

The defense was fired up last week in a horrific type of way, for an opposing defense, of course.

I would love to start Ronnie Brown, but he is going to be hit in the backfield on 90% of his runs.

good posting. this is one of those rare instances, where starting your #1 pick is likely a bad idea

It is not a trap game. Bears cannot beat everyone by that much every week. Unless you are in a league that subtracts you for TO's, I would play Harrington. He will be passing for sure.

WATCH OUT on this one!!!!! The curse of the "Old Men" and their "Champagne" will haunt the bears! The "ghosts" of Dolphin past will be out and the "un-defeated" cork will be popped today......in Miami! :hifive: :IBTL: :bowtie:

I'm starting Gore over Rudi for the same reason.

According to ESPN insider Chris Mortensen, Cleo Lemon could see some action for the Dolphins if Joey Harrington continues to struggle.

I am going to be calling my father-in-law at half time, who lives in Miami, and razing him about his Dolphins who will be down by at least three TDs.

Come on now - this is a classic example of over analyzing. Miami is HORRIBLE and Chicago is clearly one of the best teams in the NFL and probably the class of the NFC come playoff time. The only complaints Bears fans will have after this one is why once again Lovie didn't put the hammer down in the second half and destroy the overmatched opposition.

Etch it in stone; write it in blood. The Dolphins beat the Bears this.....in sad faces.
Bears this in sad faces? Can anyone translate this for me?
It's looks confusing because the number of characters in the subject line was limited and cut my sentence. It should read "this week..."I think I fixed it.

Did any Bears players say that?If not, I wouldn't be overly concerned with what fans and the local media are "paying attention" to or "expect".

At what point do people start talking about Saban losing his job??

Should be considered, with this talent!
