Garmin Fenix 3 (1 Viewer)

Update to see if anyone has the Fenix 7 version? Would mainly use for trail runs (main use), road bike (some), hiking, swimming (some), and working out (main use).

Was deciding between the 255 with music, 955, and Fenix 7 (bought, but have not opened).

Thanks for opinions!

I thoroughly evaluated the F7 vs the Epix Gen 2. Was coming from a Fenix 5+. Opted for the Epix Gen 2 because of the (much) nicer screen. Higher resolution, brighter. Easier to read texts. I sacrificed the longer battery life and solar charging of the F7, but that's OK for me.

Not sure if you have found dcrainmaker.com in your searches yet, but if not, go check it out. It will give you every possible detail of every watch.

You make a lot of sacrifices on metrics and activity types with the 255. The 955 and F7 are close, with the latter being more rugged (and bulky).

Oh and FWIW my primary uses of the watch are trail running and street running. Some weights. A little swimming. One of the annoyances of my F5+ was that it wouldn't track HR when swimming (the F7 and Epix Gen 2 will). Look for things like that.

Great reply, thanks! Would love the Epix Gen 2 (that screen is gorgeous); but it’s another $200 🤔.

955/fenix 7 seem almost identical in function, but different look. 255 a clear step down, but probably does 98% of what I need.

Rainmaker reviews are great, but overwhelming. Want to hear from people who use them!
