Gas prices? (1 Viewer)

Can someone explain why I'm still paying $3.60/gallon here in SoCal?

I know taxes. But still does this add up with the price per barrel at 40-42?

I do love it when people pile into cali then complain about its Well known warts.

Will your next thread be about how you can't get on the water for under 8 figures?

Didn't they shut down a couple of old refineries for refurb in CA? I think I read something about that - at least it is the excuse du jour

Because refiners are ####ing strangers in the ###.

In California, the statewide average for regular gas fell 14 cents the past week to $3.40 a gallon. Gas had spiked in California in May and June because of refinery outages there, but prices have fallen 46 cents in the past five weeks, as supply issues were resolved.
"Outages" while at the same time their profits are double what they usually are.

California refineries reaped an average of 49.3 cents on a gallon of gasoline from 1999 to 2014, according to the California Energy Commission. But this year, the average ballooned to 88.8 cents, triggered when refinery troubles in February disabled 7% of the state's capacity at a time of low inventories.

Refineries limiting production when the forecast is lower oil prices is not something to complain about?

Funny the comment about refinery going down for maintenance or repairs. I work in a manufacturing environment, our machines go down we don't get to charge the customer more...we just get yelled at that we have a back order....

I paid $2.25/gal for regular in Northern VA. Can you imagine paying more for internet service because your provider got hacked? Glad I don't live on the left coast. :D
