we used to share the same liquor store back in the early 90's. he'd walk in to a chorus of brothers shouting out 'mean gene!,' wrop his enormous hand around a bottle of Jim Beam, and say hi to everyone. a liquor store celeb, if ever there was one. now I wonder if his huge appetite for booze caused his pancreas to give out.
