Get it On! Rookie Draft Discussion Thread (1 Viewer)

Why are teams that need DE's like the giants and steelers passing on guys like Peterson and White for projected 5th and 6th round picks. Just doesn't make sense.

i would think they'd address the o-line with either hunter or manuwai
I got the impression they were going to keep going with Defense from Aj Smiths interview on ESPN. Maybe they'll pick up a LG with the 3rd (Torrin Tucker if he falls perhaps)

You guys do realize that these teams aren't drafting for fantasy football, but actual football right? Sorry your sleeper RBs are falling so far, but the guys being taken ahead of O. Smith, Suggs, M. Smith, etc. aren't scrubs, they can play, and alot of these other guys are falling for a reason.

You think SD wants to work on it's secondary a little?

Kiel is good value though

I know a lot of these guys can play but please explain Bethel Johnson to me. Seven surgeries small not highly ranked. It`s been a strange draft.

thats what i beginning to worry about!

No kidding. Because this draft is about useless for fantasy potential this coming season. No player even deserves to be drafted in a fantasy draft outside of Rogers and Andre Johnson, and McGahee and Larry Johnson only by the owners of Travis Henry and Priest Holmes. This draft is absolutely pathetic for fantasy football purposes.

It's not over until the fat lady sings. I still have to think that either O. Smith, Lee Suggs, or Chris Brown will land somewhere where they can be a starter.

With the 2nd round (almost) overm why are these guys listed below still available??QB RagoneQB SimmsRB SuggsRB O SmithRB C BrownRB M SmithRB FargasWR WashingtonTE WittenDE WittenDE ReddingDE D WhiteDT R LongDT K PetersonS Holtwild day for sure!!

Looking ahead:64 Tampa Bay66 Detroit67 Houston68 Chicago69 DallasThere will be at least one and probably more like 2-3 RBs taken in this stretch. These are all RB-thin teams who could produce a stud rookie.

I think that you're going to see several fantasy roster-worthy guys drafted in the 3rd & beyond. Every year there's a few second-day guys that come through big time. For the original point, the draft today just seems even further than usual from the "expert" predictions. I understand that every team has different things they look for in a player, but you just have to scratch your head when you see someone take a player in the high 2nd that nobody thought would be a day 1 selection.
