Get it On! Rookie Draft Discussion Thread (1 Viewer)

I know Weathersby was just shot and will probably miss camps at least, but I'm still surprised teams have taken much lesser corners with so much less upside.

Might he go at 4:01 (hopeful, hopeful)...Or is it too much to have two picks that's going to miss at least mini-camps, if not training camp?

If the Texans are thinking RB, they made a good move trading their pick to the Raiders. The Browns/Jets/Saints/Dolphins aren't going to draft RB's. (Famous last words).Right?

Does that upset you that you won't be able to rid yourself of the bum? :D
Actually I'm a simms fan. What people that say that simms always chokes against top 10 opponents, they fail to note that we could never run the ball against top 10 competition either... I'm willing to bet that Cedric Benson had terrible games against top 10 competition as well...Greg davis the UT OC is a terribly predicatable playcaller... with runs on 1st and 2nd down... So what happens is that teams with good Ds stuff the run, then leave simms in an obvious pass situation on 3rd and long.

BJ is a FB, yes.
Hmnm...betcha the Bengals wished he fell a few positions. He's a local guy (Cincinnati Colerain HS), and the Bengals need a fullback. Still, I think there are probably better FBs in the draft. But remember, Lady, the Bengals need defense on the second day (I keep reminding myself).Interesting that two local boys went in the 3rd round. The Texans got a good LB in Peek. Thought the Bengals might go with him...but you can't argue with the value we're getting.

All right. Somebody start a poll. What's the most commonly spoken line in the draft rooms today?1) Hey, somebody roll another blunt.2) Pass me some of that fatty, bro.Add as you see fit.

this draft suck ###!!! :D the only fun part was when Vikings passed up their pick and then Jacksonville and Carolina rushed and speed up the draft for a sec, and the Willis McGahee and Larry Johnson pick, of course...

Maybe the Texans are just loading up on high quality QBs now instead of replacing the O-Line needs. This way, instead of protecting their QBs, they'll just sub one in when the other goes down from an inevitable injury. :D

...and then blows it with the Ragone pick. My opinion...Ragone will be a career backup (have no fear Carr owners), but why waste a 3rd round pick on a career backup QB?Of course, the Bengals have wasted a few first round picks on career backup QBs. :D

:rotflmao: It looked like there were a lot of Raiders fans attending the draft this year!

Did the Vikings really blow it? Think about this- they probably did get the guy they really wanted anyway knowing that Jax would take Leftwich and even if Carolina drafted Williams, they would still end up with Gross, who Tice was high on. How much $$$ did the Vikes save themselves by drafting 9th rather than 7th?

Don't worry about the defence LadyB. The Bengals are intent on becoming the new Offensive Juggernaut of the NFL. :D
Aussie, I still remember the Bengals of the 1980s. Now that was an offensive juggernaut. However, we also had a pretty good D too.

after the larry johson pick, this draft has taken a nose dive. watching teams reach for unknown DB's and LB's in the 2nd round round just isn't exciting

Kevin Williams can't be happy with that Vikings move... well, i guess us dynasty league owners'll have to wait until tomorrow to see where the RBs go

After the anticipation for this day, the craziness in the top 10 picks, and watching Cincy outdraft the rest of the NFL, I have to say that I wish my avatar would just take a knee and be done with the play. It's been 2 weeks now and if a receiver isn't open by now they never are going to get open.

It needed to be said.

Andy D, Mort said earlier today $3 mill in signing bonus but we all know Minny is going to claim he's the 9th pick and the agent will say the 7th, so we get another hold-out with the Vikes #1 pick. :D Embarressed to be a Viking fan today. sighs

You may be on to something.

And Simms continues to tumble downward.... this is truly amazing stuff.Suggs, Onterrio, Fargas still on the board.Un-B-Lievable.

probably no money. by picking him at the 9th spot, they get less rookie cap, but my guess is he will demand #7 type $ so they will have a harder time signing their other picks. It put them in a bad finacial situation imo
