We all know how close we were to beating the Pats in Giants stadium where our record was 3 - 5. We also know that Ahmad Bradshaw was not available for that game because he was hurt. We also know that the Pats should have lost to the Ravens, if it was not for a BS timeout called by the coach...I mean they had them....dead. And lastly, we also know that Miami beat the Ravens, as we know - Miami being the worst team in the league.

The GMEN WILL SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time I think about it, I still cant believe the Gmen are in the SB. A win would just blow me mind.

Its always a good idea to judge a team by its worst performance of the year (Pats vs ravens). whats amazing about the Patriots is that in their worst performance of the year...they won!

The Ravens tanked it following the loss to the Patriots; that was pretty obvious. So, using the "Baltimore almost beat New England, and Miami beat Baltimore" argument doesn't really work. The NFL is about matchups, first of all, and second of all, it is wrong to assume that teams play at the same level every single week. Yes, the Giants can win on Sunday, but a lot needs to go right for them for that to happen. I think most people realize that if the Patriots play their best or their near-best, they won't lose, regardless of how well the Giants play.

Oh really, how profound. You New England fans are so funny. You cant let Giants fans have a little fun without poking holes. Relax, your team is supposed to win. They are the greatest team ever in history. If they dont win - the apocolapse (sp) is upon us. I did not know that football was a game of matchups - thanks for your 2 cents Madden

Personally, I love the prediction. Savor the moment. In a few days, win or lose, it will be over. As will the season. So, Im all for letting it fly while you can and let the chips fall where they may. So, I'll stand behind the intention of your prediction here, even though I'll be pulling for the other team. Confidence is a good thing, and I respect yours here in your team in a BIG way. Enjoy it. It doesnt happen every day. Good luck fans of the Big Blue.

I may be alone in this, but I believe that the talent gap between the '91 Bills and the '91 Giants was significantly larger than the talent gap between the '07 Patriots and the '07 Giants. The '91 Giants were supposed to get rolled by the '91 49ers. Famously the NFL home office was so sure of the outcome, they mailed the Super Bowl tickets to SF. Eddie DeBartolo had to mail 'em to NY after the game. Somehow the Giants survived, and then beat a far superior Bills team.As for the Belichick angle, his defense was on the field for 19 minutes in the Super Bowl. God knows, that defense was terrific, and so was Belichick, but Ron Erhardt and his offense did a good job, too.Go Giants!

You may not be alone in this, but whoever would agree with you in this would be equally wrong. Youre telling me that you think the '90 Bills were that much better than the '90 NYG? The only reason those Giants were supposed to get 'rolled' by SF was because that was also a dominant team, looking to win a 3rd straight title. No shame in being a decided underdog to that Niners team. But the 2 teams played earlier in the season, and it was a Giants-style 7-3 slugfest. To beat SF the 2nd time around, they just needed to slug it out again. Which they did. With the league's best D. During that time, the NFC was on a dominant Superbowl run. 13 straight SB wins for the FAR superior conference of the time. Leading up to that '90 matchup, the NFC had won 6 straight. The NFC OWNED the AFC back then. So, I dont care what anyone was saying then or now about those '90 Bills, they were an AFC team. Anyone who knew football recognized the difference in the talent level between the two conferences back then. Not only were the Giants the NFC's best, they won the EAST. That division was the league's strongest. Washington and Philly went 10-6 that year. Winning that division back then meant something. Today, not so much. Now, its a good NFC division. Nowhere near the best in the league.

New York also had the best defense in the league in '90. They led the league with only 211 points allowed. This year's Giants have given up over 350. No comparison whatsoever between the defenses of then and now. The '90 Giants played the Niners that year in the regular season, and held them to 7 points and lost. This year's Giants played New England in the regular season, and held them to 38 and lost. See the difference?

The '90 Giants also started out the season 10-0. They lost Simms during the season, which hurt. But that team wasnt great because of Simms. They didnt score a ton of points to begin with. But that was the biggest question mark with New York that year. The fact was the backup, Hostetler, had been with that team in that system for several years and was ready to step up. But to start out 10-0 back then? in the NFC?? Yeah, that was a pretty good team.

That Giants team had the league's best D, playing in the NFL's best division and conference, with the experience of winning a Superbowl just 4 years earlier. Comparing that team to this year's team? Only thing they have in common is the name.

I dont really care about what the 'talent' level was with either team entering that Superbowl. The Giants were the better team and played against better teams to get there.

Btw, we really dont want to get into comparing the '90 Buffalo Bills to the New England Patriots of today. An all-time great team vs one that couldnt win a Superbowl? No breakdown needed there.

Bottom line - that was a far better Giants team back then in comparison to today's Gmen, and they played against a Bills team that in no way compares to a modern day dynasty. If the Giants win on Sunday, it will actually be an upset.

Again, I dont care what the point spread was. You missed the point. Buffalo was a favorite because they beat another weak AFC team 50-something to 3 to get there. Call it an upset, call it what you want. The Giants played in the better division, in the better conference and beat a FAR better team to get to the game. Upset? Call it what you want. That 'weak' Bills team beat the Giants IN NY earlier in the year with Kelly getting knocked out early in that game (believe Simms went down in same game). Bills also beat Eagles earlier in year. Bills had #1 O and #6 D. They scored 95 points in previous 2 playoff games. Bills went to 3 more SB, Giants fell to middle of pack if not worse. The Giants played an absolutely perfect game and still needed a missed FG to win. Yes, it was a big upset.

:lmao:
not that it isn't possible, but i'm curious: was this post inspired by whiskey, or just plain old beer?either way, the analysis is quite solid. :lmao:
Actually, it was Vodka and looking at NFL network - the Giants Superbowl where Hoss beat the Bills. If that can happen - why cant WE beat New England
Somehow the Giants survived, and then beat a far superior Bills team.

As for the Belichick angle, his defense was on the field for 19 minutes in the Super Bowl. God knows, that defense was terrific, and so was Belichick, but Ron Erhardt and his offense did a good job, too.

Go Giants!

The fact was, the backup, Hostetler, had been with that team in that system for several years and was ready to step up.

Anytime you are a double digit underdog and you win - its an upset....period....
Depends on who you talk to. Like I said, considering the NFC was in the middle of winning that game THIRTEEN straight years, I dont know how anyone in their right mind can consider it an upset.

Simple point here. Buffalo had the #1 scoring O ya say. NY had the #1 scoring D. And WHAT wins championships again? D. Why would that have been an upset or a surprise then? With again considering NY had just beaten a 14-2, 2-time defending NFL champion on their own field. And again, the NFC was without question the dominant conference.

The way I see it... what will the weather be like in Arizona? It will be perfect (due to the dome in the worst case).

The only times this year the Pats struggled to score 30+ pts were games with high wind/bad weather. The Ravens game being explicitly poor weather.

So I'm figuring over 30 pts for them, and doubt the Giants can score over 30 with the Pat's having 2 weeks to prepare/scheme their defense to stop Eli and Jacobs/Bradshaw.

The only chance the Giants have is for the Pats to beat themselves, namely by Brady forcing the ball to Moss because Moss has been shutdown in both previous games. If Brady continues to just take what the defense gives him, it ain't gonna be pretty Sunday night for the Giants.

Two teams left you picked the underdog, ok good job.Did you win any money?Beging of season did you think the Giants would win the Super Bowl?I'm sure you wanted the Head coach and Def. coach fired as well as Rivers over Eli.It's ok, you can tell us.

After all the snide little comments, this is kind of a weak comeback.

Dude, I was the first Pats fan on here giving the Giants Congrats.Ask FBG why that post was deleted. Again where was He in the being of the year?Giants did it, without the Giant Fans. If this game was played at Giant Stadium, Giants would have lost.Worst fans by far. Giants will go 8-8 next year.

Most have been pretty civil considering I think. Also what makes you think we'll go 8-8. The emergence of bradshaw and smith. A more confident Eli with a free season under his belt. House money next year baby....house money
