Ministry of Pain

With a HoF DE retiring, and another Pro Bowl DE out for the season, there likely is going to be a lot less of a pass rush on defense which means a somewhat suspect secondary will now be primed to give up a lot of cheap easy scores thru the air. When this happens and if there is talent at the skill positions on offense, you sometimes get what we refer to as cheap and easy points for your FF team. If a team strikes quickly thru the air, that means the offense is on the field quickly.
OL: This is the main reason I would bump up the NYG skill positions including QB, RB, WR1, WR2, and yes Kevin Boss as well. This group should allow them to operate and score a lot of points. If the Giants are playing form behind then you have to like Eli Manning and where he is being drafted. Sure, Eli has some very average days but we have also seen him light it up when need be. In the beginning of 2006 when the Giants were still finding themselves on both sides fo theball, Eli had some terrific games from a FF perspective. Eli was #5 in 2005, #11 in 2006, #14 last year...but he has been top5, almost top10 another season...and in a year where everyone seems the same from #5-#20...here is a guy that could have huge upside and is going #14 off the board.
QB: Manning...I discussed what he is capable of.
WR: Plax...as long as he is healthy I wouldn't pump his numbers up too much but he is a nice WR2 coming out of the mid 3rd round right now...or he could be your WR1 if you want to go that route too. I will be interested to see who settles in at WR2...I know Toomer is still holding down the fort but that might change.
RB: Don't sleep on Brandon Jacobs, I got him at the 5.02 over the weekend which I thought was nice value.
Bottom line is New York was going to have to score anyway to compete with the likes of Dallas, but now they may find themselves in a situation where they need about 24+ every week in order to win...if that turns out to be the case, they have the personnel in place to make it happen.
