Give him another 15 years (1 Viewer)

I saw him on America's Game. He seemed kind of smug. Then he started referding to kids doing the "Aaron Rodgers belt" - and then I knew he was smug. Give credit to where you copied it from, ya horse's rear end.

I hate him because the Packers faithful are now convinced they are going to win 5 or 6 straight SBs, going undefeated each season in the process and that he is already the greatest QB ever.

Full disclosure, I'm a Viking fan. :bag:

But the average person will hate him becuase he will be the victim of the same hype machine that has made people hate Favre, Brady, Montana, etc. At some point, unless they're talking about one of your teams players, you just get damn sick and tired of hearing about how great any one single player is, especially when that player's teams are really successful. It doesn't matter how great a player or person they are. That crap just gets old.
That is bogus... the reasons for most (I know myself) for hating guys like Favre and Brady are far from media hype. It's the way they handled themselves off and on the field. Favre was a guy I loved for YEARS, I grew up watching him play and thought he was truly one of the better kept QBs in the league on and off the field. Once he retired though he showed his true colors. He turned into a baby about retiring, shot pics of his junk to reporters; essentially became an all around #####. Brady was humble for a single season. Since then he has thought himself to be jesus walking on water and has more or less stated that as a fact in more than a handful of interviews. If Rodgers maintains his play, and off/on the field actions he will go down in history as one of the best QBs (if not the best) to ever play the game. The only people who will hate him will be the fans of the Bears, Vikings and Lions who had to watch him two times a year destroy there teams from the inside out. The way he plays this game is almost like watching brain surgery. It's nearly flawless and you can't fathom how he does what he does.

Oh, I'm a Giants fan by the way. Not a Packer fan before someone jumps on me about that. I actually can't stand the Packers, but if there is one thing to like about them at all... it's Aaron Rodgers.

I've heard so many Favre haters who started hating Favre because the media was gushing about how good he was. I loved having Favre as our QB and I'm loving having Rodgers as our QB...we've been very fortunate.Today, however, I heard the first comments by the media that will eventually leave everyone hating Rodgers. Here's what they said: He has the "poise or calmness" of Montana, the arm strength of Marino, the athleticism of Elway, the "smarts" of P. Manning and something that I can't remember, but it was comparing him to Brady. So, he is Montana, Marino, Elway, Manning, and Brady all wrapped up in one guy! :hophead:
I think people found plenty of other reasons not to like Brent besides how the media used to gush about him.

agreed, dumb thread and dumb responses including mine.

but i appreciate that the original poster has helped me personally solidify my dislike of rodgers. thanks for the therapy.

He can run circles around all those guys. Maybe they should add that he runs like Steve Young. A few weeks ago the Packers coach McCarthy suddenly started making good gaming decisions like throwing with the lead and going for it on 4th down. I am convinced that it was Rodgers that set McCarthy straight even though I have no evidence of this at all.

I'm sick of Aaron Rodgers. I already hope that a weakness can be found, but week after week he plays flawlessly. He's the best QB in the NFL without a doubt. Pack are currently the most unstoppable team I've seen in a long time. We'll see what happens.

They may have made that comparison to Young as well, I can't remember, but I think that may have been covered under Elway's athleticism. As the OP, I agree that it is kind of a dumb thread...just something that I thought of when they were drooling all over him. A lot of people seemed to miss that I said I'm grateful to have both Favre and Rodgers on my Packers. I just remember people used to hate how Madden gushed over Favre, and started saying it was making them start to hate Favre. Whatever, those who hate Favre will always look past what's really said and just start ripping on him. I just believe that at some point, those same type of people will eventually hate Rodgers as well. If you pay attention, it's pretty easy to notice his arrogance, but that wasn't the point of this thread which I realize now is totally POINTLESS. I've wasted plenty of time in the Shark Pool reading these types of things...don't worry, you will get over it.

It's all about how he handles himself in the media moving forward. Peyton Manning had just as many glowing reviews in his early years as Rodgers has, but most of the public still loves him because he comes off as a genuine and nice guy.
