Give up Melvin Gordon for 1.4, 1.7, and 2.5 (1 Viewer)

0.5 PPR contract league.  Start 1-3 RBs and 2-4 WR's.  16 team league.  My team has a great chance of winning this year.  I've finished in the top 4 the previous 3 years and am solid at QB/TE and stacked at my IDP positions.

My Current Team (Starters in bold)

RB:  Gordon, Rawls, Booker, Hightower

WR:  ODB, Jordy, Dez, E. Sanders,  T. Smith

I give:  Melvin Gordon

I get:  1.4, 1.7, 2.5.  

I would most likely target McCaffrey/Mixon at 1.4, Hunt/Perrine or trade back at 1.7, and one of the QBs at 2.5.

Can you wait until the pick is on the clock?

I would do it if I could get Mixon at 1.04. I think he could get to Gordon's level quickly and the two other picks would make it worth it to me. 

I like McCaffrey too, but in 0.5 PPR that's probably going to be a pretty big downgrade from Gordon and not sure it's worth it given the lack of another clear starting RB on your roster.

If your team has a great chance of winning it this year (as you stated), why would you want to give up a huge key component for a bunch of question marks?  On the surface the deal is fair but I think it really gives you a back step to your current year performance.  Long term, it is probably the right deal to accept.  Short term (if you really think you can win) it hurts you.

agree with all of this.  You said you have a great chance to win this year - don't go for a mini-rebuild like this if you're pushing for a title

Agree with the previous two posters. Its too big of a short term risk, while you are in your window with Nelson and Dez. Long term you might benefit, but short term not so much. Of course, if Gordon goes down, the whole thing might go with him.

I see the offer as an attractive one, but it depends on this year vs. long term in your mind.  You are strong at WR but minus Gordon you become very weak, to the point that it might be difficult to get someone to fill his shoes.  I say keep Gordon and get him dependable some help at the position.
