Goliath - New Wooden Roller Coaster (1 Viewer)

SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER

This thing looks pretty sweet. A wooden roller coaster that goes upside down. Although, I think it's kind of cheating to call it a wooden coaster when it clearly states that it has steel in it.

Still. I want to go to there.

We have season passes again after a couple year layoff, so we've gotten to watch it being built as we've already been there probably 10 times this year. I don't really want to ride that thing. And supposedly part of it already caught on fire once. :lmao:

So you're saying it opened cleaner than a healthcare website? I'd still ride it. :YOLO:

It's also late, I think it was supposed to be done 2 weeks ago originally. I'm a big wuss and I won't ride Raging Bull, Superman, or the Eagle either. Most people will probably enjoy it, but that thing pushes limits farther than I'm willing to go. It does look like a great coaster if you're into that thing though.

I do love wooden roller coasters. Just something about them. Went on El Toro last year at Six Flags Great Adventure and it was the first time I experienced that high banking twisting on a wooden coaster. It was pretty awesome. So seeing this one, well, it makes me salivate.

I've been on Son of Beast at Kings Island in Ohio, which featured a loop, though said loop was built out of steel, not wood.

I never got to ride that. I used to have season passes to KI. They built it after I moved away and when I finally made my way back, they closed it down for good. :(

Maybe that's part of the ride. Anyone can do a roller coaster, or one that goes upside down. Now you can ride one that's ON FIRE!!!

Don't forget your blood pressure meds the day you ride that.

I went to Great America on Fathers Day with my family and they were still working on the coaster. I thought it was a few weeks away, there were cranes and guys bolting the wood together. I have no interest in riding that thing, maybe a year or two after all the kinks are worked out.

did we every decide on a consensus chicken noise? Baulk, Baulk

daughters went yesterday. One went straight to rhis ride and waited the 90+ minutes, Overall she liked it. I guess its on steel tracks, so its a smooth ride unlike normal wooden coasters. Going upside down with just the lap belt was the thrill accoeding to her.

Other daughter hit up Superman and a few other coasters before standing in line for this one. After being in line for 2 hours it broke down. They gave it another 30 minutes and bailed. I guess it was brokwn down more than it was running. I'll give it a couple of months before I try it.

Goliath is a really fun coaster, went on it opening day. The only coaster I like better at Six Flags is Raging Bull.
