Good Site for Prospect ETAs? (1 Viewer)

SIDA!

Footballguy
I am looking for some good site(s) with info on projected ETAs for minor league prospects. In particular, I am interested in Profar and Nolan Arenado. Arenado was in Single A last year and is still very young, but I am reading that some think he might get called up as early as June this year.

Arenado has only Casey Blake in front of him so if he excels in AA, he will get called up probably in the middle of the year. Otherwise, he is a late season call up with full 2013 a strong possibility.

Profar was in low A ball all of last year so even aggressive promotions would be lucky to get him in Texas prior to late 2013. Even he if destroys the minors and sees a 2-3 levels this year, he has Andrus, Kinsler, and Beltre blocking his path.

My best guesses as of now

Arenado - 2012 (he will have a shot to win the job in spring training but would have to have a monster March to do that)

Profar - 2014 (absent an injury)

And there are very few sites who would try it because there are so many different things that can change an organizations plans during the year.

Baseball America does try it but really just remember they are guesses

Arenado's probably a September call-up and will be the leader in the competition going into 2013, his job to lose. Obviously as long as he maintains 2011's pace.

I think Profar's more likely to get traded than ever start for Texas, he needs injury opportunity. Regardless I don't see him until at least summer 2013 and likely later.

FWIW the Rockies beat reporter thinks that Arenado will be up by June. The main drivers of when it happens are:

1. He has to keep hitting in AA the way he did in High A and the AFL (although the AFL rate isn't sustainable)

2. Blake doesn't miraculously revert back to 2009 health and production levels

One thing about the Rockies to keep in mind is that AAA is essentially useless for them. Hitting in CO Springs (the AAA affiliate) means nothing and pitchers are sent there to die. So if he hits in AA, his next stop is going to be Denver.
