good trade? AL only division, keeper, H2H points league (1 Viewer)

I'm dealing Cano and Glaus for Beckett and Barfield.

I would insert Teahen/Youkilis at 3rd for Glaus, Cano has been in and out of my lineup as a utility player since I have Kinsler starting at 2nd.

My starters consist of Lackey, Weaver, Bedard and Vasquez right now with Blanton plus Harden, Hughes and Millwood on the DL. So right now Beckett would replace Vasquez and Barfield would be a backup.

I don't really need Cano and Glaus, while I like him alot, is always an injury risk. I would like to add Beckett to my staff, especially since I'm running thin at SP. I'm just not sure the tradeoff of Teahen/Youkilis is worth adding Beckett.

How does your points-scoring system work? I'd try to find some good rest-of-the-year projections and work out the + on pitching against the - on defense.

Point system is all offense. 1b=1, 2b=2, 3b=3, hr=4, sb & rbi=1, bb=.5 No minus for batters. Pitchers get 7 for a win, k=1, 1ip=1, loss=-5, ER=-1, BB=-.5, CG=5. That's what I worry about in this system, I'm not sure giving up Glaus' offense is worth adding Beckett. But he has been dominating so far this season. We can't have enough K pitchers on our rosters, and they don't really grow on trees in the AL.

I'm assuming a Run for a hitter = 1 also?Looks very hitter heavy like you say, sorta like my one league but those pitchers don't get negative points and wins=8, saves=5.I'm not so sure this move will earn you more points, especially since Beckett isn't going to keep winning at this pace. Glaus is always an injury waiting to happen though. Tough call. Hopefully someone can run you some numbers.

I completely agree with your statement about the points, I'll have to break down the percentages to see if what kind of value Beckett has in my rotation. Thanks for your input. PS- He countered with Beckett and Dye for Glaus and Cano. Starting 4, I have Vladi, Grady, Scheff, Rocco, Cuddyer already out there, so I don't need an OF. But I can use Scheff and Rocco as a utility since they now qualify as a DH. Hmmmmm.
