Who is his boss?... The owners...
Who's trying to stop football?... The owners...
 What world do you guys live in? The owners do not want to stop football! They lose money if that happens. Seriously, you are making yourself into an ADM poster.
"They don't want to stop football"*Owners locked out the players*
Which is a tactic to get a new deal. They do not want to stop football. If you believe that, then I have no choice but to question your intelligence.
You are right. They want do want football to play on and allow them suck down as much money as they possibly can get their greedy little teeth sunk into.

Of course they do. Just as much as players want to play football to get as much money as they possibly can get their greedy little teeth sunk into. You guys keep trying to cast this as a one sided event and it is not. Both parties refuse to make a deal. Everything else is PR and you are eating the NFLPA's propaganda like candy. It is all business and it is all positioning. Each side tries to get the public on their side as that helps add leverage for their goals.

If you're right, Goodell could have announced the stay of the lockout to the fans and they would have cheered.
 If you are serious with this crap then your intelligence should be questioned even more so than Carolina Hustler's.

They may not want to, but are willing to, which they have, and thats the whole point...Sounds like you need to question your own ...

I don't get it. Why would the owners want to stop football? Why would ANYONE involved in the NFL want to stop football?I gotta agree with Chad here...this isn't a one-sided problem.

Being willing to and wanting to are two very different things. Do you really not see that or are you just trying to get out of a poor position that you were defending?

The owners instituted the lockout. When it was stopped they got it put back in. They planned for 2 years to do this and tried to set aside $4 billion to tide themselves over while they stopped football for a whole year if necessary to get the players to cave in and give up what the owners want. Goodell was part of all of that. Of course they're trying to stop football, until they get what they want. That's why the fans were booing. Anyone can see that.

The fans want football and do not care who gets paid what. You have a recognized decision maker in front of a bunch of rowdy fans- I am shocked they booed. Really. Shocked. That is not something I am disputing. What I am replying to is the silly notion that the owners WANT no football. That is a money losing proposition for them. It is, however, something that they have prepared for and something that they will begrudgingly do if they feel they need to (and if they are allowed to by various court decisions). It is just basic business sense to prepare for something you see coming. Just as a bank adds money to reserve because it believes it will have higher losses in the future. This is not something a bank WANTS to do because it costs them money since it becomes 'dead' money. But they would be poor bankers if they did not just as much if the NFL did not prepare for this labor dispute that they saw coming.

Godell was given his position by the owners, why wouldn't he side with the owners here?
It is not 'siding' with the owners, it is doing what he thinks is best for the league.
:lmao: That's the stupidest thing I've read on this board in a long time. If Goodell thinks the players are right about the current labor issues and says so in public, he gets fired.
You must not read the board much. I really can not decide if you are just an overly emotional football fan, a family member of DeMaurice Smith, a member of some union or just void of business experience and/or acumen. Whatever it is, you seem very intent on looking at one side and demonizing the other. This is simply a business transaction between two groups. Each are trying to gain leverage by whatever means they can. We will have a deal when both sides cease trying to gain leverage and start trying to come together with a deal. That seems like it is a bit off in the future at this point.

We aren't arguing over whether or not they wanted to,The issue is that they have been trying to, they have, and are willing to..Who cares about anything else, they were willing to stop football and they did, the result ifd they succeed is no football..What point are you trying to make?Goodell works for the owners, the owners tried to stop football. The fans at the draft boo-ed Goodell, Goodell was just doing his job and really didn't have much else for options... The owners deserved to be booed, rather than Goodell. You arguing over what someone wanted, when you couldn't know what each owner personally wants is, ..pointless.. No Football, is No Football...
