Got the #6 pick tonight, PPR (1 Viewer)

I am going into the draft thinking Rice, McCoy, Foster, Calvin and Rodgers will be 1-5. If any of them fall to 6, I take them PDQ.

But if it goes as I think it will, I am not sure what to do, other than take a RB. Mocked out taking QB and TE, and its a mess, esp with RB injuries of late.

So, CJohnson, Forte, MJD, DMC are in my mind. Remove MJD, just because of holdout.

CJ v Forte v DMC is what I am left with.

Leaning towards CJ, but if you want to argue otherwise, please do, I am hardly locked in on taking him at #6.

many owners have come and gone, we used to be able to protect 2, now we dont, it wasnt PPR until this year! Which is a huge factor!!! History doesnt mean much in this league.

To add to your lack of clarity:

Maurice Jones-Drew - RB - Jaguars

The agent for holdout Maurice Jones-Drew reportedly said that his client is now "open to bridging" his relationship with the Jaguars and owner Shad Khan.

Perhaps Jones-Drew finally realizes he has no leverage here. The Jags aren't going to trade him and they aren't going to rip up the final two years of his contract. NFL Network's Steve Wyche spoke to agent Adisa Bakari and came away suggesting that this acrimonious situation could be repaired if one side extends "the olive branch." Still, there has been no communication between the Jags and Jones-Drew's camp since Tuesday's spat in the media.

Gotta go with a gut call in the first my man. Who do you like? Pick your guy. At least that way if you're wrong it was your call and not someone else's.

I'd go ahead and swing for the fences with DMC, but that's me.

You gonna catch a lot of flack on this board because for some reason on a fantasy football board u shouldn't discuss draft strategies ?? I m in the same position that you are I think I'm going Cj2k

lolz

ok, to make it up to you, when it gets to your turn in the 2nd post again and I'll tell you who to take.

I thought thats what this place is about? Talking strategy, who should I take, information, tips, etc. I hope someone takes someone else 1-5 and leaves me with Calvin or Rodgers. But gotta be prepared.

So your key preparation is posting this question to the Shark Pool?

Nope, that's called the Assistant Coach forum. If everyone posted in here with this crap it would be full of people asking for help and leave no room to talk about different players, situations, strategies, etc.

You'll probably get better insight by taking the time to skim through the threads of the players you mentioned. You already counted out taking a qb so shouldnt be too hard to decide, all the rbs have questions.

Well people are right, you should put this in the ASSISTANT COACH forum and you'll probably get a lot of ACTUAL help rather then people mocking you for not being prepared. Try in there for sure. As for your question that no one actually answered, that is a tough call. Is your scoring 6 points per passing TD or 4 points? If it's 6 points, I'd actually consider Brady at the 6 spot. If it's 4, then you're right, you have to go with CJ, DMC, or Forte. I think Forte is the safest pick but has the lowest ceiling. DMC could be your home run guy and looks great in camp and in PPR is huge. However, a mixture of safe and a potential home run guy is CJ in my opinion. I'd draft him, good luck.

You thought wrong.

No one can tell you who you should take its ya team and your money after all I just wish people on this board weren't so anal about these kind of questions maybe this guy is new maybe he's new to fantasy football take it easy lol.

As far as strategy I'm kinda of the mindset that it does not matter where ya points come from as long as I get the points so why not take the highest ranked player on "your" board that's the fun of fantasy football don't sweat it so much you probaly got 15 more rds after that 1st one!

You've been here 5 years, have almost 700 posts, but you've never bothered to read this big old note at the top of the forum:

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE SHARK POOL

Threads that are asking for advice on how you should draft or manage your team belong in The Assistant Coach forum.

:wall:

Then you can pretty much place every post from the shark pool in the assistant coach board

I also drafted 6th in a 10 team 0.5 PPR league this weekend. Rice, McCoy, Foster, Calvin and Rodgers were all gone. I took Mcfadden and Forte in the 1st and 2nd rounds and then Julio and Jordy in the 3rd and 4th, setting my team up with solid RBs and WRs. Targeted Matt Ryan late and got him in the 8th,..... best advice I can give is analyze other teams when you pick. If teams 7-10 all have QBs, its more likely you can pick a RB or WR on your first snake run in the 7th round and get a QB on the turn around in the 8th....I think McFadden has more upside and when he plays your almost always guaranteed numbers. CJ can play, but sometimes puts up stinky games....

:lmao: :lmao: yeah, but then we'd all be posting in there and would want them moved somewhere else.locating landfills is not easy.

If you're not sure who to grab, you try trading the pick? outside of the guys you mentioned (that you expect to go 1-5) maybe everyone else is a bit of a stretch. I got McFadden, but Im not in love with him. Chances are someone will grab Brady or something in the top 5 and maybe one of those guys will fall to you.

Good luck. be sure to post who you end up taking..
