Graham inactive = Watson big day (1 Viewer)

interesting, is graham nursing an injury?

NE will so far out in front today with Joey Blue skies running the show for Miami, they wont need to throw

Yes, Graham is definitely out . . .

Per the Boston Globe:

Inactive players for the Patriots:

DB Willie Andrews

DB Eugene Wilson

TE Garrett Mills

OT Nick Kaczur

TE Daniel Graham

DL Le Kevin Smith

DE Marquise Hill

DL Johnathan Sullivan

hoping that watson will have a big day is based on the premise that with graham out, watson will fill in what he did and get more receptions/yards...

...but what graham mainly does is not receive, he blocks. watson is also a damn good blocker.

watson isnt going to disappear, but that blocking needs to be filled by someone, and watson is the obvious choice.

Mike Reiss of the Globe's analysis . . .

"With tight ends Garrett Mills and Daniel Graham out, the Patriots will dress just two pure tight ends: Benjamin Watson and David Thomas. This should lead to expanded opportunities for Thomas (1 catch, 29 yards), who has been a third option through the team’s first four games. Should the team go to a three tight end set, running back/fullback Heath Evans could play some tight end responsibilities. Without Graham, the Patriots lose their best blocker of the group."
