Graham vs. Hernandez, young TEs (1 Viewer)

Neither.
Hernandez has great receiving skills, and Graham is a great athlete crossing over from hoops. Bottom line is neither will be a vital focal point of their teams offense. Has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with opportunity.
If you think that either is your TE for 2011 - and its a TE mandatory league - I hope you mean backup/bye week filler. TE15 isn't giving you enough of an advantage. In a mandatory start system, it is imperative to score a top 3ish-5ish TE.
The poll is 50-50 right now, and to me its a coin flip. Hernandez is more polished and probably has a higher floor, while Graham carries more risk because he is still learning. Does that mean the latter has a higher ceiling? Only if you think unknown = greater potential.

It's gonna be tough for Hernandez to be a top TE while he's still fighting Welker for short catches and Gronk for TE targets.
Jimmy is in a similar spot but you can see where his role will be expanding at some point. I'd take Graham over Hernandez the day that he's not fighting Shockey for playing time. I'm guessing that Shockey is out of NO in 2012 but I guess it could be 2011 if they don't want to pay him. Until then there won't be enough targets for Jimmy to be a TE #1. I do think Jimmy will end up being a star his owners just might have to be a little patient.
