David I sent you three designs on Friday but it was returned as undeliverable. I will try again but not sure why it didnt go through in the first place. Is your mailbox full?

 
:shock: The suspense is killing me...I must have checked this message board 20 times today to see if the winner had been announced yet. I guess I will just sit back and wait for the award winning design to be selected :popcorn: but I will probably check back in five!

:wall: Ugh.....nothing yet! And I got all excited when I saw a number new posts and thought maybe one of them would have been the announcement. I know I must sound so impatient but this is as close to a Fantasy Football game as there is in the offseason...lol.

Any time I see a new post I have to check it out. I can't wait to see the covers that weren't posted in this thread. That is if they end up showing them. I wonder how many were submitted overall.
 
:sleep: well i waited up long enough (2:44 am EST) hopefully tomorrow we will all find out :confused: it must be a photo finish, which is good :thumbup:
 
I hate to start rumors, but I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here. When Archie saw that no player images were allowed, he realized Eli wouldn't be on the cover. He has since obtained a court order to stop this contest and the publication of the book.

I too am interested, though I missed the submittal deadline. My thought was NFL FANTASY SUCCESSIT'S ALL IN THE NUMBERSAND WE'VE GOT THEM HERE with FootballGuys Logo near the bottom and lots of stats screened in the background.

:drifter: I have a great idea to speed things up. Like...take the top four designs and make them collectible covers.....you know, kinda like TV Guide did for the Beatles and the Lord of the Rings movies. Righteous...that way there could be four winners :gray: But there would be the whole problem with the prize money :rant: Oh well, it was a good idea for a second.

Sorry guys. We have narrowed this down to 5 designs. And it has taken days to achieve that. We will announce the winner and the 4 runnerups Tuesday morning. Outstanding effort by everyone. And again sorry for the extended wait here. We are just incapable of making hard decisions sometimes.

I hear ya man. Like most of you I've checked here often.They're getting their site going for the new season ...they're probably busy with that. Wonder if they have to present them to a publisher to see the costs too? Like a "busy" cover would cost X amount of dollars, while a simpler one would be cheaper? Suppose that would hold some weight in the decision, not much as we know they're sticklers for quality but...business-wise I guess they gotta consider it. eh who knows?I read that by Dodds and was hoping he was sleepy and mistook this for being Monday.Just thinking out loud, trying to either make the time go by or make myself more curious ;)

Hey Bri, It doesnt matter how busy or simple the cover is. It only matters how many (ink) colors are used. Since MOST covers were 4 colors - it dosent matter if one is more complexed then the other.2 color would be cheaper, But I doubt (could be wrong) anybody used 2 colors properly.
 
How about a free book to the 4 runners-up? That would be cool....if theres 5 that are that good, I think the 4 that dont win should get a consolation prize for making it to the final 5.That or a free 2004 subscription to the site, whichever is cheaper. :thumbup: Or a FBG shirt.

 
Tuesday Status:

Joe and I are deadlocked with two different designs a piece...what a surprise. We have decided to have some of our staff weigh in and we will take the consensus from those results. Unfortunately that means the results won't be posted until Tuesday night.

Here are the 6 finalists Listed in no order):

Entry 6

and if your design was not chosen in the Top 6, it does not mean it was not great.

We had over 100 submissions. Many people had great efforts, but they were just not the look we were after.

We appreciate everyone's hard work here and apologize for our inability to make a decision. But with so many great efforts, this really has been a struggle to even narrow the field to these 6 designs.

Man I didn't even make the final six. !!!Someone call the Supreme Court for a recount. LOLAwesome finalists !!I've liked design 4 from the get go. ( of the ones posted here)and Design 5 is by far the nicest of the ones we havent seen !!I would vote 5BTW Design #3 is lame and not even close to most of my attempts !!(I didn't have a vote so now I'm a big LOSER LOL :pickles:

 
The football on #4 looks exactly the same as the one on KFFLs homepage... not?

It is the same but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.Whats always bugged me about that football is the stripe.THats a college football FOOTBALL LOL :popcorn:
