Greatest Song of All-Time (1 Viewer)

Pretty sure I've posted this same thread before, and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Can anyone top my top-3?

Heroes

Moanin'

I Want You to Want Me
The House of the Rising Sun

The Animals version is a classic rock staple. Nina Simone actually made the song even dirtier than The Animals.  Dolly Parton's weird 80s version is surprisingly fun. Woody Guthrie delivers that early folk sound which fits the song so well. The Ventures take the sound the Animals did and make a killer instrumental of it.

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Simon and Garfunkel, Aretha,  Elvis, Cash, Roberta Flack, Willie Nelson and even The Jackson 5 deliver unique and distinct versions. The song is so good almost anyone can make something special of it.

Eleanor Rigby

Beatles, Joan Baez, Aretha again, Ray Charles version is incredible, Oscar Peterson has a nice little jazz number with the theme. I am not sure about the Jackie Wilson version but it's a little funky. It's hard to make that song not work. Booker T, Richie Havens too. The Four f'n Tops. Vince Guaraldi Peanuts-ified it.

Ah, songs with the greatest array of perfomances.  I nominate Pressure Drop (and I'm sure I've done this before too).

Toots and the Maytals

The Clash

Robert Palmer (speaking of amazing covers).

The Specials

Keith Richards w/Toots

Izzy Stradlin ... Just found this live cover for the first time - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebsv_j5nk5Y.  Bookmarked in my Awesome Songs folder.

Gov't Mule w/Toots.  What a voice.

The Rocker Not sure who these guy's are but it has a nice rockabilly nod (reminds me of underappreciated surf rock band The Ziggens).

The Oppressed

Nice. I figure for a song to really be great, it should be repeatable. Any song can be great by one artist. Maybe it's the song, maybe it's the artist and maybe it's just the magic between them. For the song itself to be truly great separate from the artist, it needs it's success to be repeated.

You could go down a black (rabbit) hole if you googled Wild Horses covers.  I'll go out on a limb and say that it's the most covered rock song ever.

Speaking of covers, this song will never not give me goosebumps.

Adrian Belew and Martha Wainright:  Heroes

She melts me.

One of Mick and Keith's best.
