Greg Little (1 Viewer)

Anyone interested in Greg Little? He caught 4 passed of 5 targets last week. Two were over 10 yards--one for 18. He's a big dude and probably can generate some mad yards after the catch. Any thoughts on him? Is he worth a flier in a 10 team league?

Where would you rank him to comparable receivers?

Is he a Brandon Marhsall/ Brandon Lloyd waiting in the wings?

Love the guy, just seems like its gonna take until at least late this year for him to get any tread on the tires. Just one mans opinion lol

Shut up! I'm trying to trade for him and discussions like these make that more difficult.

Seriously though, I think he has a chance to be good, but I don't know if it will happen this week. I would expect him to be a key to the offense by midseason, but hopefully (for the sake of my trade efforts) this week will not be not be his coming out party.

The good news is the Browns already recognize who their potential stud should be. MoMass is what he is; Cribbs is exciting and versatile, but he's not a WR1; Robiske (HC comments to the contrary) is a good blocker who hasn't matured as a receiver. Norwood's not even in the discussion. McCoy was saying this week they need to keep trying to get Little more involved. He's a playmaker.

The bad news is the Browns don't utilize their WRs. They carry 4 TEs and 3 of them see significant targets in double TE sets. Hillis continues to be the QBs security blanket. Through two games, the RBs/TEs have 38 targets, the WRs 31. Worse, the wideouts have only 16 receptions - only three teams have fewer WR catches.

Little has talent, and he may develop into their WR1 in a year or two. But even then I think his upside is limited. Until they upgrade their QB or significantly changer their offensive philosophy, I don't expect much.

Its coming.

Colt McCoy singled out rookie Greg Little as a receiver the Browns need to make more use of in the passing game.

Little only has eight targets through two games, but he's gotten better by the week and looks to be on the verge of a breakout game. "Greg is starting to get the hang of it, [so] we’re trying to get him the ball a little bit more," McCoy said. "He’s a playmaker. You see what he does with the ball in his hands and he wants the ball. We’re excited about how far Greg has come."

The thing about the Raiders is they throw downfield.

I somewhat thought the Browns might change with Shurmur coming in (StL targeted Clayton, Amendola, were talent challenged but at least their WR's got a lot of targets); but things seem very similar. Little has already seen a lot of playing time but McCoy and Shurmur just don't seem interested in looking downfield much. I'm guessing somewhere there are stats about pass attempts +20 and +40 yards, I wonder where Cleveland ranks.

I'm starting to think Titus Young is a rookie who might be more likely to emerge on the QT.

Great write-up! Thanks for taking the time.

Little is no where near as natural a WR as Moore. Moore's hands, fluidity and body control look far superior to me. Little has the frame to evolve into a beast at some point, but I think he's still a ways off.

Moore is already silly. He's been lighting it up since day one of camp, into the preseason and now in the regular season. He's going to have rookie ups and downs, but the ups will be nice. He needs to add some bulk to his frame, otherwise he's everything you want in a WR. His height at 6'0'' is not a strength, but it's offset by ridiculous hops and a long wingspan.

We often say a WR2/Wr3 on a passing team can easily outproduce (FF wise) a WR1 on an offense like the Browns.Young is a bit behind the curve because a TC injury kept him out of early practices and the first couple preseason games. Initially, the thought was to utilize him to stretch the field, open things up underneath for Burleson, Pettigrew and Best. But I could def see his role expanding as the season goes on - and if it does, then he probably eats into Scheffler's role (TE who often lines up in the slot).Speaking strictly redraft, e.g., this year only. Long term I think Titus could be special.

With my luck I'm sure he will.

Drafted Denarious Moore, dropped him after week 1 to pick up Jacoby Jones. Picked Moore back up after week 2 and dropped Little. I'll probably have to pick up Little next week and drop Jones and be right back where I started but $15.00 lighter in the wallet.
