Greg Olsen (1 Viewer)

Please let this not move him up so far that the Vikings can't get him in the early 2nd! ;)
No way he drops into the 2nd round. Most experts have him pegged to be a middle to late 1st round pick. With the 40 time he just ran, I wouldn't be surprised to see G. Olsen go to the Packers at #16. Franks has fallen far from what he used to be and with Favre back they will want to give him the weapons to succeed this year. They are close to the playoffs and the NFC is anything but strong. G. Olsen will add an nice threat to that offense. Favre loves tight ends too!

Most of the Mocks I had seen had him falling into the early 2nd before he ran this.

Yeah, I really don;t pay too much attention to mock drafts until after the combines and pro days as things typically change soo much after those have been completed.

I see another Olsen thread here, feel free to merge or delete. Who woulda thought someone else would post an Olson thread?

Yea there werent any mocks predicting him in the first before today, most likely he will project as a late first rounder now because of his 40 time. His reps left a little to be desired though, and he's not an amazing blocker. He could easily fall to early second roundI'm pretty sure it was a 4.45

:hot: So many different numbers for this guy! It's like Vince Young's wonderlic test all over again.

his first was a 4.47 and his second was a 4.45 but both were unofficial times.

Olsen made a awsome catch in one of the cone passing drills! He is really helping himself on day 3

He kept it going at the Miami pro day.

Coming off a strong performance at last month’s scouting combine, Miami TE Greg Olsen may have put a lock on the top grade among 2007 draft prospects at the position when he ran a 4.41 40 at the Hurricanes pro day on Saturday.
:lmao:

this guy has clearly separated himself from the rest of the TEs.

Who would you guys compare him to as a prospect?

Hard to put a finger on it as his QB's play was so bad this year. Physically, I think the easy comparison is Shockey. I haven't seen him play enough to give a real good opinion.

I'm gonna say M. Pollard with better hands and before he went to Det. Maybe even D. Clark. Very good concentration.

It will be hard for Oakland to pass on him at 2.01
I don't think he'll get there. He may go as high at #16 to the Packers.
Saints won't let him pass the 1st round. Unless Miami would be willing to trade Randy McM for a 4th rounder.
why do you think they'll make a play for him in the first round? with the exception of a decent WR to pair with colston, the offense returns all its parts. conwell was cut and miller, an experienced pass catching TE, was re-signed for another year. consequently, i don't think upgrading the offense is exactly necessary especially at the expense of ignoring legit talent on the defensive side. we have re-signed most of the defense FA's - lake and thomas at DT; shanle at LB - but these are not upgrades. Cornerback and LB positions need depth and youth, if not a potential starter. Safety simply needs depth. TE would be nice but aren't there some other value picks for the position in later rounds?

Anyone want to venture out with any ideas on his prospects this year? From what I have been seeing, both Olsen and Clark will be on the field together with Clark being left back to block.
