In my 12 team league I have the starting lineup and the points are as follows, my weakness is RB2 and WR2 what cailber of a player do you think Roth is worth?, currently I have been offered players like derrick ward and deangelo williams, and chester taylor, but I would like Marion Barber but its hard to get the owner to come off of him

6pts per passing td, 1pt per 10yrds rushing and receiving,

Mylineup

P. Manning

W. Parker

J. Lewis

R. Williams

D. Jax

Witten

Carolina

Stover

Backups

Roth

Caddy, Fred Taylor

Henderson, Kevin Curtis, Jennings

Thanks for your help

The trite answer is he's worth whatever the market will pay for him. I'm in the same situation in one league I'm in with him backing up Brady; knowing the guys I'm not even shopping him. They will not trade a starting RB away despite any problems they might have at QB right now (and a few do), particularly since in this league there are short rosters and a long free agents list to try and work with. And, in truth--I was exactly the same way last year when my own problem was QB performance.

But it's the true answer. If you want to shop him around (trying to keep this a SP thread instead of getting it moved), you need to use some sales skills. Find out what your particular "market" is bearing, and get that value for him.

There's a lot of new QBs coming on the scene too, with some injuries...I personally have never seen a good starting RB traded for someone's backup QB in a 12-team or fewer league. And yeah, I know it's not supposed to matter that he's your backup...but it does. People look at your roster and see Manning, and think "He's going to play Ben exactly one week, so he's not worth much to his current owner. Therefore, why should I offer a lot?"

It might not be entirely logical, but most people aren't terribly logical on trades.

I wouldn't trade him for the sake of trading him. If you're getting those type of Running Backs.. What about possibly putting Manning out there & trying to get a top flight back & start Ben..

just another thought.. You would most likely land a great RB for Manning & would be okay starting Ben..

*nods* This is definitely worth considering.

Interesting idea. With 6 pts for a passing TD I'd have a hard time trading Manning (of the Peyton variety) even for a top flight RB. He's going to put up great numbers every week.Of course, Manning + JLewis might land you a top RB + a top WR. You'd need someone that was deep at WR (JLewis for the WR) and had a top RB (Manning for the RB).You'd need to pick up a back up/alternate for Ben.If it were me, I'd wait for now. If Ben throws up another game like last week his value will go way up for you. Then you might pull off a Ben for LJ if LJ struggles again this week and the owner panics. That wouldn't be a fair trade but taking advantage of panic can be very profitable.

I have Ben, and am holding unless I get a great offer after he lights up the Buff secondary this week. Leaning towards keeping the Romo/Ben combo and playing matchups all year though.

I do think if he throws up 3-4 TD's this week people will start seriously sniffing around for his availability. Lots of people that drafted a Leinart type as their QB1 have to be awfully nervous right now.

6 pts/TD pass doesn't really make Manning all that more valuable than he would be in a 4 pt./TD pass league.

all good points guys, the problem with Manning is that he is worth so much now the only guys I would trade him for are LT and S.Jax, but thats not likely to happen in my league, but a solid RB and WR for Manning might tempt me, but I dont think the other owners are up for that.

One owner has Leinart and Eli for a QB, his backs are edge, bush and julius jones and chris brown. His WR are Boldin and S. Smith not a great team but he is hurting. The other point is that once he goes off again on Buffalo his value skyrockets further.
