Hakeem Nicks versus Charles Woodson (1 Viewer)

Correct - Woodson will not be covering Nicks on Sunday if Dom Capers' gameplan works as designed - at least not by himself on the outside. He's still a decent player, but it is apparent that no team fears him and Capers works hard to hide him - most often inside on a slot receiver or TE.
Wait, you're a GB fan, no? Capers has repeatedly made it clear that he puts Woodson in the slot often because it provides the defense max flexibility AND because he has confidence in Shields on the outside. In other words, Woodson works the slot because he is #######g good at creating havoc from that position - you know, impacting the entire offense - rather than simply taking 1 guy out of the play on the outside.
If Nicks gets Woodson alone on the outside, it will be trouble for the Packers, but that is unlikely. The Packers play nickle or dime approx. 75-80% of the game.
Unfortunately Nicks got the better of Woodson once on Sunday. It was the only monster catch Nicks had where he didn't majorly push off (a move which seemed to be the entire Giants' strategy on Sunday; it was like watching a Cris Carter / Randy Moss timewarp).

After watching Nicks, I think he's a bit overated around here. Good player. Nowhere near the best WR in the NFL. Actually Greg Jennings looks smoother, and has better RAC ability as well. He made the Giants DBs look silly numerous times.
Who said Nicks was the best receiver in the NFL? This is only the second year Nicks has been in the NFL, and I think he is very good, and he will only get better. He is a gamer too. I'm surprised at how well he is playing so soon after compartment syndrome in his leg.

No kidding. Biased Nicks owner here, but I love what I am seeing out of him as a second year WR. Plays through injuries and actually contributes when doing so.No one is crowning him WR1 overall, but you have to like his top 10 potential for future years based upon what we are seeing already. His progression curve may level off sooner than some expect, but why would I bet on that instead of betting on continued improvement?

Alex, the physicalness went both ways. Are you trying to say those GB defenders weren't all over the Giants Wr's as well? The catch that Nicks made late in the game where he was flagged for the push off he didn't even hardly do anything. The ball was underthrown so the play was exaggerated to the extent of the push.GB beat the Giants up, but don't take away what the Giants did do on the field. As a WR, you have to be physical with those GB corners, that's a good thing, not a bad.

Great fantasy player but I saw several times yesterday where he just wasn't on the same page with Manning. He's far from a top 5 WR in terms of running routes and in sync with his QB but his talent, heighth, hands and speed make him a top 5 fantasy WR.

Numerous people calling Nicks the #1 WR in dynasty. I just don't see it. As I said, I think he's a good player, and I am very happy I had him on my team this year.

You should be more concerned about Williams. He's a borderline probowler and a much better cover corner than Woodson. Woodson better overall but as far a cover ability Williams is better.
this is one of those bizarre rumors that gets started, catches fire as a joke and then everyone starts repeating itWilliams is a fine corner. as you said a borderline Pro Bowl player but Woodson is headed for the Hall. not just because he plays the run and creates turnovers. he shuts people out. Woodson is far better than Williams and i like Williams.

Tramon Williams did something he hasn't done all season. He misjudged a ball, and let Manningham get the best of him on a 85 yard TD. Good play by Manningham.
this is strange to me.. my brother and i, and several fans around us, were talking about Williams having difficulty with that deep jump 50/50 ball.. well before the Manningham play.interesting how people have different perceptions of the same player
