Hannity, Coulter, Palin, Ailes, Ingraham (1 Viewer)

I should probably add Newt to the list but he's more cockroach than human so I'm sure he'll survive in some manor.

Wish it were true but they aren't going anywhere. If anything they'll be even more vociferous with Hillary in office.
Indeed, for a couple of days after the election these horrible people will rail about how it was stolen by the liberals and then it'll be back to business, making money hand over foot by preaching to the believers about how the country is going to hell in a handbasket. Their market is rock solid.

I think whatever people thought about this group before, since Trump it is a whole new ballgame since. IMO. What has gone on here is not just a new chapter, it's a whole new book.

It's a good list but I would not include Ann Coulter who yes keeps these a-bombs as friends but her ability to sit on a panel by herself and defend her beliefs when she is being attacked...the truth is most don't attack her, she has a sharp tongue and does not embarrass easily. You might hate Coulter, I certainly have had my issues but she is different than the rest. She isn't naive to what is happening around her.
She has no beliefs. She has found a niche in the marketplace and everything she writes or says is designed to resonate with the people who want to believe the tripe she is selling. I hope this doesn't include you but you've given us little reason for optimism.

With the divisiveness and idiocy these folks have cultivated in the fringe right, and the attempt to legitimize hate and gossip as a means to an ends, they deserve scorn and my hope is the scorn will be enough of a repudiation to bring back at least a modicum of level headedness to the poilitcal discussion in this country.

I did re-post/delete, as I said I don't love her but she is better at what she does than the rest combined IMHO...

Ann Coulter is very clsoe to being a white supremaist.  Read what she writes these days about immigrants and black folks and get back to me about how she strands for some purer ideological beliefs.

Wouldn't matter. Like Oprah and Osama before them, society cast a mold as soon as they grasped the public imagination, and their copies will infest our domain until we no longer need doppelgangers for our personal inferiority issues.

And soccer is a communist plot to destroy America's children.

I haven't heard Ingraham in quite some time but are you sure you're not confusing her with Ann Coulter?
She's on with Hannity all the time supporting Trump and decrying the mass exodus of Republicans as cowards who are gifting the election to Hillary.  Her premise that Trump ain't so bad and it's all the liberal media's fault is so disingenuous coming from someone of her intellect, which I surmise is pretty strong, that it makes confident that she is aware she is bamboozleing folks and that makes her an accomplice to all this sheet we are watching.  Screw her, she made her bed.

Call me an optimist but my hope is that with the trouncing these ######s will take in November the RNC and Republican Congressional leadership will take stock and know they have to tone down in order to recoup their losses.  And now with Ailes out at Fox maybe they let the likes of Baier and Kelly headline their brand.

As long as they are the face and voice, the democrats are on solid ground.

I don't watch fox.   I can't remember the last time I heard one of these people speak.
They are some of the influential opinion makers for the downstream right wing Republican base and they are the ones responsible for fanning the flames on the current dumpster fire.  They like their audience ignorant and in some cases(Hannity) are the equal to their listeners.

The right wing media is never happier than when it's out of power. They're like AA counselors with millions of alcoholics there to listen to them.
It is a great business model they are impervious to any criticism because they can then say it is from the liberal media thereby re-enforcing their narrative. Genius.

It is an awesome strategy, indeed. The only flaw is in the mean and median ages of its audience. The next wave of news consumers, even the below average ones, won't be getting the bulk of their news from cable tv.

That must be why CNN and MSNBC have had such terrible ratings. They need a GOP president.
I don't follow the ratings, but would say of course the left's news/entertainment equivalents like Colbert, Maher, Oliver would love a Trump win and (like Stewart) certainly pine for the old days when they had Bush to kick around.

How does me listening to them speak and having that adversely affect my peace of mind change any of that?

Doesn't, but it may give you insight which may be helpful in knowing how to understand Uncle Fester's pov when he's backed you into a corner at the family hoe down and proceeds to regale you with the litany of Killary nonsense.  Knowledge can be power.

So, just like every other pundit and politician in the country?

It doesn't work that fast IMO.

I think the Republicans will fight this out for the next 20 years before they find their feet as a center right party again -- think of the Dems from McGovern to Clinton.  If the Dems hadn't been gifted Watergate it would have been 1968 to 1992 without a Dem President.  In the meantime the Dems will keep pushing the conversation to the left -- making the right wing diehard position more and more obviously a loser over time.  Then they'll eventually win all the fights they came to win, will turn to excess, and the pendulum will start to swing the other way again.

Yeah, I only talk politics with a handful of people which don't include anybody too far to either side.

Yes, everyone who listens to or watches them will come to their senses and no longer support them with ratings that keep them in business.

Hey, there's no denying the Ailesmens' impact on the culture. My trailer-trash, gossip-mag sister recently said "oh, that's just science. i don't believe in that". No religious underpinnings, youthful impetuousness - 60yo college-educated woman, daughter of an engineer who holds the patent on the growlight, no longer thinks there is a fact in all creation which she cannot choose to believe or not. That didn't happen before the Ailes dialectic.

Ingraham is her own thing these days. Yeah she belongs on this list.
I heard her radio show about a year ago and thought she sounded fairly rational. I've seen her on TV a couple of times but haven't really paid attention to what she was saying. I can't imagine that she belongs in the same sentence as that witch Coulter.

In the context of what she has been doing under Trump she does. In terms of horribleness as a human being you are likely right.
