Happy Election Day! (1 Viewer)

Looks like Virginia will probably elect a Republican governor. New Jersey seems poised to re-elect their Democratic governor. Not sure what else? Oh NYC will elect Eric Adams, putting an end to DeBlasio's regime. Thank goodness for term limits.

Just voted. Never missed an election.   No candidate races this year-just state referendums and local school district bond referendums. I usually stay up late on election night regardless of the various party expectations/results watching the results/analysis.

I did my part as a new Idaho resident.

Only a City Council and a bond bill vote but I never miss voting no matter how small.

Bovada Odds have increased dramatically in Youngkin’s favor in the last hour:

Youngkin -700

McAuliffe +425

The mood at CNN’s Democratic Headquarters has turned sour.  John King making mistakes on his telestrator. Jake Tapper lisping more than normal…

Developing….

City council vote only here.  I hope the guy who stated we should shoot BLM protesters and let them bleed out overnight doesn’t win.

We all are.  Republicans pushing towards doing away with democracy, Democrats playing good cop and allowing it to happen while offering token resistance.  We are good and ####ed that’s for sure.
Hyperbole ain't got nothing on you!

You're clearly not paying any attention to what's going on underneath the Democrats control.

We're on the Third Rock From the Sun. Where are you?

I could be mistaken but wasn’t it McAuliffe  who said that parents didn’t have a right to determine what their children are taught?  That doesn’t sound very democratic to me. 👎

John King still in denial, saying over and over this will go till late in the night.  Very sad to see.  He’s literally hyperventilating.
That's too bad. As a news organization you should just be reporting the news and not hyperventilating.

It's over.  All of the benchmark numbers each needed to hit are almost down the line falling on the Youngkin side.  Stay tuned to MSNBC for the talks of how this was racist and we are in danger of losing our constitutional system while in the next segment they suggest doing away with the Senate because it's not fair that small states get represented that way.

Oh I’m pretty sure it isn’t hyperbole.  They all want total power over us.  This Country has been moving this way for 40 years.  It seems to be accelerating but who knows.  I don’t see any way we pull it back.  It was a good run.  But it’s going to get real ugly in the next 100 years.

Yes sure was?  He said the quiet part out loud like when Trump said don’t listen to anyone but me for news or whatever at that rally.

As I said, it’s both sides working towards the same goal, total control.  The media is there to provide cover by focusing on Alec Baldwin or Stormy Daniels.

Youngkin probably going to win by like 2-3% when it all shakes out.

There are trends and then there's the party that loses the WH winning the VA Governor's mansion a year later.  This is 12 of the last 13 elections across almost 50 years.

The only exception was... Terry McAuliffe -- who won after Obama did the prior year.

Wasserman now projecting the Republicans will sweep all three VA statewide races.  Control of the House of Delegates remains

MSNBC cracks me up

They're almost conceding the race to Youngkin, but making fun of his national aspirations.

Kornacki the star by far on the ongoing results analysis. CNN a distant second and FOX bringing up the rear. He pretty much called it 30 minutes ago without calling it.

Kornacki and then Dave Wasserman and Nate Cohn on the Twitter are all good.  Wasserman in particular is good because he'll make a call once it's ~obvious without waiting until it's certain.  I'm sure he misses one every now and then as a result, but I'd rather know 99/100 early than 100/100 late.

Wasserman is a great follow for sure.  He had calculated benchmarks for each county/city going into this that each would likely need.

Cohn is the guy who oversees "The Needle" for the NYT.  I believe they do the same thing by precinct.  Which is kind of nutso if my memory is right.

I thought they got rid of the needle after Trump won.  I watched the needle that night - it was pretty awesome.

ETA:  yeah -- he just tweeted that 1900 precincts have reported in VA with Youngkin overperforming the target in almost all of them.  He expects a +2% Youngkin win after everything shakes out.

Nicole Wallace on MSNBC is so sad.

Might have to call for a welfare check for her if she keeps slipping lower...
