gameday says injury timeout delay and Harden gets replaced

Anyone know what happened outside of the expected?

:goodposting:

from sportsline glog

That will be the end of the outing for Harden, who got a nice ovation from the home crowd as he went back to the dugout. He appeared to be disgusted at himself for allowing A-Rod to cream a fastball he left down the middle of the plate

Hopefully it's nothing

Harden leaves A's game with apparent injury

Rich Harden was removed from Sunday's game in the seventh inning with an apparent right shoulder injury.

Harden opened the game with six scoreless innings before getting a visit from the trainer and the manager to start the seventh. He convinced them he was fine to stay in then, but after giving up a double to Alex Rodriguez, he was taken out and walked off the field with the trainer. Maybe he just had a little tightness in the shoulder, but even that would be a bad sign. Owners should be hoping the problem was actually somewhere else. Apr. 15 - 5:55 pm et

Feast or famine with Harden. He's about as injury risk as anyone in MLB. Harden came an eyelash from TJ surgery during the off-season, now this. I've always thought he was more suited for closing because of his slight build. I bet that's where he ends up eventually, and he probably will make a great one.

Tightness in his shoulder is what the Ynkees broadcasters got as the reason. Hope he's not competing with BJ Ryan for my DL spot. Due to the infamous ESPN glitches, I didn't even get any stats for his 1st two starts.

Not surprising here. I'm benching him for Week 3 since it happened on a Sunday.

Too bad, this guy is solid when he's healthy.

Watching the game, he seemed to almost have a grin on his face when they first came out to check on him. He reassured the trainer and Geren that he was ok, then stayed in and gave up another hit. He was nearing 100 pitches, and was pulled. Didn't seem to be in any pain, just maybe some discomfort.

When he was taking his warm-ups with the trainer out there, he was rotating his arm in a windmill motion to maybe try and loosen it up, but it was tough to tell. I actually would've guessed oblique over shoulder if they hadn't reported it as a shoulder issue.

Rich Harden (shoulder) will not make his scheduled start Tuesday against Baltimore.

Even though he was able to get through a throwing session Sunday. "We're not going to put him on the disabled list," manager Bob Geren said. "He had a really good day throwing and we feel like he'll be ready sooner rather than later." Brad Halsey could be called up to start in Harden's place. Apr. 22 - 10:02 pm et

Well his annual trip to the DL has happened. Harden was placed on the 15 day DL with a strainged shoulder and is eligible to come back on May 1st.
