Has anyone gone QB-WR-RB? (1 Viewer)

I may be picking 7th in a 14 teamer

start 1qb, 1rb, 1wr, 1te, 2(flex)(wr/rb/te) 1k 1d and only 4 bench spots

was thinking going Manning - Best WR - RB - RB-

The rb's left for your pick in the 3rd will be very slim lickings. Rb's have a greater value than wr's. You migh get a sleeper like Maroney in the 3rd.

I'm a big fan of QB-WR-RB if the league supports the move but there's no way I'd do it in a league like yours for a few reasons;- You have the option of starting 3 RB's so I draft RB-RB-RB and look for RB in the 4th round unless a really good WR falls to me in the 4th(and he might).- You are only required to start 1 WR so demand for WR's is lower than in most leagues, I think the only guy that would suggest drafting a WR in the first two rounds in your leagues is bagger.- The small bench is the last key. Can you really afford to burn a roster spot on any of the RBBC available in the mid rounds???? I wouldn't. In a league with small rosters it's not hard to find a starting WR/QB on the waiver wire in a pinch but you'll never find a starting RB floating around out there and if one does you'll be playing waiver-wire-lotto as every owner in the league tries to claim him.I think QB-WR-RB is a good move this year in a 1qb/1rb/3wr ppr 6pt-all-TD format though.

Depends o your league starting requirements. I'm in a 14-team that is 1rb 2wr 1 flex that is .5/rec. In this league, you could easily go that route. I"m picking #13 and if Manning is on the board, I could very well go manning-smith/chad in 1-2.

RBs in that league aren't gobbled so ridiculously (part of the reason why i set the starting rosters as such), so Deuce is a likely candidate in the 3rd, possibly even better.

So it all depends.

But in a silly shark league that drafts like 20 consecutive RBs to start the draft, it might not be wise.

Few times in mocks

Manning/Smith/Portis(tendinitis news made him fall, overreacting I guess)

Manning/Harrison/Jamal

Manning/CJ/Caddy

Manning/Holt/Caddy

Outside of FBGs(or even some here) Caddy has really fallen this year. I'm fine with him so that makes Manning an easier pick for me. I sure don't much like the middle of round 1

ETA Jacobs and Marion Barber or Jones can be there for your next RB if there's a WR run which isn't so uncommon in round 3.

ETA, again sorry

20. Brandon Jacobs RB NYG 3.07.63 2.06 5.07 07.51 103

21. Carnell Williams RB TBB 4.01.46 2.10 5.07 06.73 103

22. Marshawn Lynch RB BUF 4.04.00 2.09 5.10 07.33 104

23. Deuce McAllister RB NOS 4.07.49 2.12 5.11 07.18 102

24. Ahman Green RB HOU 4.09.56 3.03 6.08 08.88 101

25. DeAngelo Williams RB CAR 4.10.73 2.12 6.06 08.44 101

26. Adrian Peterson RB MIN 5.02.83 3.02 6.06 06.49 103

27. Jamal Lewis RB CLE 5.06.56 3.03 7.02 08.95 98

28. Marion III Barber RB DAL 5.10.60 4.04 8.04 07.95 100

29. Jerious Norwood RB ATL 6.01.99 3.10 8.09 11.22 104

30. Julius Jones RB DAL 6.04.96 5.01 8.11 08.57 97

Note the 4's. I little trade up and you could still go WR again in round 3.

IE Manning, WR, WR, RB

A top WR may be more settling to some than these RBs. Not to me but....

Without knowing the scoring I don't think you can make all these assumptions. If WRs significantly outscore RBs then you're basically looking at the 1QB/1RB/3WR set-up that you say it would be useful in.

It depends if you think Boldin or Ward(for example) will be more consistent than BarberIII or Caddy. I don't think you want a Q just yet in your draft and some might feel week to week, a WR is better here. The latter WRs sure won't give ya that feeling so....

Even if you're in a ppr league I still say if you can start 3rb/1wr it's not wise to draft a WR in the first two rounds. Add to that the league is more than 12 teams and there's no way I draft a WR in the first three rounds. I guess if it's some league where WR's get 5 points per reception or get a point for every 5 yards instead of 10 that might change things.

Nobody who has actually won a league.
 Picking at #7 and going QB-WR-RB is suicide. Picking towards the end of the round and going QB-WR-RB can work, but it is very tough and depends on your scoring system.
you wrote two sentences, one calling it suicide the other saying it's doable but tough. The catch being, they both discuss the same thing.Sleepy?
Sentence # 1 talks about picking 7th.Sentence # 2 references picking near/at the end of a 14 team league.

I did.

I had the 11pick out of 12.

1.11- Manning

2.02- S Smith

3.11- C Benson

4.02- McAllister

I'm pretty happy with those first pick.

BTW. This draft was in early June
