Hass injury affect on other Seahawks (1 Viewer)

What do you guys think happens to the value of Darrell Jackson, Deion Branch, etc with the injury to Hass? Will the young QB find a new fave reciever? Will he trust his legs more than his arm?

any other thoughts?

As an DJax owner I'm some what worried.
I'm not. He was locked in on Jackson. Seemed like 80% of targets went his way.
Good point. Seneca has been with the Seahawks for a while and will rely heavily on Jackson. I'd be more concerned if I owned Branch. Honestly w/o their running game they were suffering, even with Hasslebeck playing. The Vikes were winning the ball control game handily.

It was good that he was locked in on D JAx but odds of Jax putting up his usual numbers with the QB change are remote IMO. For me anyway, Jax goes from my sure fire #1 WR to a #2/3 until HAss comes back or Wallace proves he can get into the endzone.

How about Stevens? Did Wallace look his way at all? Do they have any prior chemistry to build on?

Anyone know what time the press conference is? Any chance the results are released at that time? Waiting is brutal!

Everybodys number have to drop. The fact that Wallace will be throwing the ball versus Hass tells you everyones numbers are going to take a hit. Because Wallace is confident in DJax doesn't mean has the skill to get him the ball on regular basis. I would also asume there are some defenses out there that will make life really difficult for Mr. Wallace considering his lack of playing time.

read on the Seahawks board that press conference is at 2:15 - fans expect results to be revealed then - not sure if that is EST or West Coast time.

Grade 2 MCL sprain

Expected to miss 2-4 weeks

Week 8 @KC - out

Week 9 vs OAK - likely out

Week 10 vs STL - ?

Week 11 @SF ?

What to expect today

That's right, it is already today. Generally I'm pretty wired after working a game day. About to get some sleep now. We'll be back at it in the morning. Hopefully we'll hear something on Matt Hasselbeck sooner rather than later. And then I'll be heading out to Kirkland in the early afternoon. Mike Holmgren's press conference is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. PDT. Players are expected to be available in the locker room starting at about 3 p.m. PDT. We'll have the usual reports as warranted.
And this latest post........
NFL: MRI confirms sprained knee

Permalink Posted by Mike Sando @ 09:18:17 am

NFL Network reports that Matt Hasselbeck's MRI confirms a Grade 2 sprain that could keep the QB out from 2-4 weeks. This is consistent with what I have heard about the injury but it is not something I have confirmed, and therefore I have not reported it on my own.

I guess thats good news - could have been a lot worse!

still 2-4 weeks at this stage of the season is tough to swallow - unless you have a very good backup there will be a lot of Hass owners deals this week!

It seemed that way. They worked on Winfield quite a bit. They had Smoot on Branch all game, with the Seahawks working DJax into the slot.. sitting down in zones.. with the exception of the audible and hot route that went for 70 and a TD. I think this will be a game-plan-dependent phenomena.

does shawns #'s go up when he comes back with them handing off more using ball control and the dump off pass. the only reason they were throwing so much was the were playing catch up.

I don't believe the game plan will alter much. Wallace knows the system and iwll get a whole week of first team practice. Holmgren expects his backups to come in and play as well as the starter. Checking the play at the line will be the biggest downgrade. I wouldn't expect too much trouble to downgrade anyone significantly. QBs like Palmer and Rivers have stepped in with a year or two on the sidelines under their belt and handled things very well. Don't forget, Wallace was a Heisman candidate at Iowa State, has great mobility and a strong arm. He's so valuable as a QB to the team that they have kept his tremendous playmaking skills on the sidelines instead of lining him up at WR, KR or otherwise. Many, many believe that he is the best straight up thlete on the team. I believe he'll perform very well in Hass' place with a little time under center. Maybe not at Arrowhead where even the best can falter, but it is certainly not time to panic, nor to expect that Alexander will come in and have the burden placed entirely on his (so far this year) unfit shoulders. I will still be starting Branch with confidence.
