Have you ever had a hemorrhoid? (1 Viewer)

are you people NOT seeing what i posted ? HESPERIDIN is what you want to use ...period...i havent had a hemorrhoid in 6 years and i had them all the time ..bad...this natural solution was a god send

Am I the only one that reads the thread title to the tune of "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman"? Yeah, figured I was.
dammit. no. :bag:

the kids, for some horrible reason, have been singing that again lately... pretty much everything I read is read to that tune these days.

Prolapsed HemorrhoidsProlapsed hemorrhoids are internal hemorrhoids in which the tissue has separated from the wall of the anal canal. Once the tissue separates, it falls down the anal canal and protrudes from the anal opening. Prolapsed hemorrhoids often look like a clump of grapes protruding from the anal opening. If left untreated prolapsed hemorrhoids can become strangulated which means that the blood supply is cut off by the anal sphincter muscles.

Strangulation can result in the formation of a blood clot inside the hemorrhoid which is one of the primary dangers of hemorrhoids. Blood clots in hemorrhoids can become a problem if they enter your circulatory system and often require hemorrhoid surgery for removal.

Thrombosed HemorrhoidsThrombosed hemorrhoids are a severe stage of external hemorrhoids which form on the exterior of the anal opening. A thrombosed hemorrhoid is an external hemorrhoid that has developed a blood clot and can become quite painful. In addition to that, a thrombosed hemorrhoid is one of the dangers of hemorrhoids due to the blood clot.

For the same reason as a prolapsed hemorrhoid, if the blood clot succeeds in entering your circulatory system this can pose a potential threat to your health. Thrombosed hemorrhoids generally require surgery to remove the blood clot and the recovery period can be quite uncomfortable and painful.

A hemorrhoid can kill you.

Is this true?
WTMF???

why did I read this thread? :X :x :X

You don't want surgery. Take a glass of orange fiber water every day and they will go away. Even with beans this works.

The "natural" solution is to eat more fiber.
that didnt make a difference for me ...only Hesperiden worked
Having issues that could force me to make another doctors visit soon. Gulp. So, I bought this stuff on Amazon and will start taking it. Hope you're right...

Fiber is your friend, Otis.

you realize you can do both ...right?

Update from: https://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?/topic/739122-hemorrhoid-surgery/

Went to see a GI specialist and once again a finger was stuck up my ###.

He said I didn't need surgery, and I'm so relieved. Said that surgery is actually the least recommended treatment for hemorrhoids because of the long, painful recovery, scarring, etc. It's basically not worth it. However, he did say that he wasn't ruling surgery out 100%.

Wrote me a script for medicated preparation H and said apply twice a day for 5 days. If that doesn't work, yay more ### play for me.

I'm also gonna start incorporating more fiber into my diet.

HESPERIDIN IS THE ANSWER
I'm going to order Diosvein tonight... it's a combination of Hesperidin and Diosmin which was also cited in the study posted in your earlier link as being helpful in reducing inflammation. I need some relief ASAP. It's a goddman murder scene in the toilet bowl after almost every use lately.

Anyone have any experience with Diosvein in particular?

I'm 4 pills in over the last couple days at this point and I've already noticed some improvement. I haven't even been eating very well to help (less fiber and more red meat and booze than usual). It's still a bit tender down there, but I don't feel the same amount of swelling and haven't had the mass murder scene in the toilet since starting w/the Diosvein. So far, so good.

Just had a hemorrhoidectomy on the 4th.  I had a couple that were painful external ones that could be taken care of in the guy's office but when I went to see him that Thursday he said "Wow!".  He told me that this one was not only big and bad but also internal.  He'd have to do it in surgery but could schedule it the next day.  I was in so much pain I said whatever you need to do.

Went in the next day (Friday) and they knocked me out for the surgery and cut it out.  Doc says after, "You really blew the hell out of that one"  They shot my ### up with long acting Novocain that was to last 4 days.  I was even supposed to wear a bracelet warning people not to give me anymore Novocain during that time.  Still hurt like a b!tc#.  (But not as bad as before the procedure)  Was downing Vicodin and Advil like Pez for days.  Spent Saturday and Sunday on the couch just about immobile.  Monday (3 days after) I had to fly for work and was on my feet at a customer startup most of the day on Tues and Weds so couldn't take Vicodin but the pain wasn't as bad by then so was just taking some Advil for swelling.  Stopped taking any pain meds on Thursday.  Feeling mostly better (now 12 days after) but still have to be careful of the stitches when on the can.  Have two week follow up on Monday.

Not the best experience but a whole lot better than I was feeling before I had it done.  No idea what led to this huge one.  Had a colonoscopy a few weeks before and everything was fine.  I was just fine one day and then "blown up" and writhing the next.

So how did this stuff work after a while for those who took it?

Problems came back... particularly an internal one.  My general physician gave me a prescription for suppositories which have helped, but haven't cured it entirely either.  Might be seeing a specialist next.

The rare flavonoids diosmin and hesperidin can stop the show . . .

No More Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids result when the veins around the ######, or in the anal canal, swell when stretched under pressure. In pregnancy and in some other cases, they can be caused by obstruction to the flow of blood in the veins of the rectum. Among other causes, hemorrhoids can result from constipation, straining to have a bowel movement, too little dietary fiber, heavy lifting, obesity, sports-related exertion, or simply aging.

IF VENOUS DAMAGE GOES ON . . .
The first symptom of hemorrhoids, whatever the cause, is often bleeding from the ######, particularly during a bowel movement. Only a slight trace of blood may be seen on the toilet paper, or bleeding may be profuse. At the same time, there may be irritation, itching, or pain. The American Medical Association reports that hemorrhoids are very common. Although they are not dangerous in themselves, they can be very annoying and painful. Although bleeding is a common symptom of hemorrhoids, it can also be a sign of cancer of the rectum or colon. You should therefore see a physician at the first sign of anal bleeding. Even if there is no bleeding, hemorrhoids should still be taken seriously, because they are a reflection of damaged veins. If the damage goes on, it can lead to varicose veins, venous insufficiency, and even venous thrombosis (a blood clot).

Believe it or not, diseases of the venous system (veins) can be very serious. Following heart attack and stroke, venous thromboembolism (vein blockage by a clot) is the third most common vascular disease in the United States, responsible for between 300,000 and 600,000 hospitalizations and up to 100,000 deaths annually.1

MANAGING HEMORRHOIDS
In Singapore, a study was done to assess the role of the flavonoids diosmin and hesperidin in the management of bleeding, nonprolapsed (nonprotruding, internal) hemorrhoids.2 A total of 162 subjects were randomly assigned to receive a dietary fiber supplement (ispaghula husk), a rubber-band ligation plus fiber, or a 9-to-1 mixture of the flavonoids diosmin and hesperidin plus fiber. There were 66 subjects in the fiber group, 57 in the rubber-band/fiber group, and 39 in the flavonoids/fiber group. The observers were blinded as to which subjects got what treatment.

THUMBS UP FOR FLAVONOIDS
When the results were in, it was seen that hemorrhoidal bleeding was relieved most rapidly in the flavonoids/fiber group, with a mean time for bleeding cessation of just 4 days. In the rubber-band/fiber group, the mean time was 6 days, and in the fiber group, it was 11 days. No complications or side effects were noted.

Interestingly, three of the subjects in the fiber group gave up after 7 days because they presumed the treatment would not work. The recurrence rates at 6 months of follow-up found that only 5% in the flavonoids/fiber group had relapsed, versus 12% for the fiber group and 21% for the rubber-band/fiber group. Hemorrhoidectomies (surgical removal of hemorrhoids) were eventually performed on two of the subjects in the fiber group and on five in the rubber-band/fiber group. No surgery was performed on anyone in the flavonoids/fiber group.

THE MECHANISMS OF DIOSMIN AND HESPERIDIN
The flavonoids diosmin and hesperidin have been found to inhibit the inflammatory response3 and to maintain the integrity of the capillary endothelium (lining).4 They also alter the way that noradrenaline operates to improve venous tone.5 Moreover, diosmin and hesperidin reduce edema, thus improving drainage.6

The diosmin/hesperidin mixture used with fiber supplements rapidly and safely relieved bleeding from nonprolapsed hemorrhoids. Subjects were far less likely to relapse, and, unlike the other groups, surgery was avoided, presumably because the flavonoids improved their venous health.

By the way, this worked like a charm.  A few weeks out I couldn't tell there was ever a problem.
