Have you (will you) alter your plans based on shootings/terror attacks (1 Viewer)

Looks like the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Minnesota is a safe zone, same as North Dakota. Not much for gangs. Too cold for terrorists. Most gun violence is domestic violence. Lots of suicides recently though.Right before Thanksgiving in the Upper Peninsula there was a double murder-suicide right down the road from my parents but since that doesn't technically count as a "mass murder" the UP still has a clean sheet and remains safe.
it's DUE!!!
it was a domestic violence disputed I think. Lots of Fargo type #### here though. Meth is a much bigger problem than terrorism or mass murder.

I'm starting to see the trend of young people wanting to move to the city (Chicago) after they come back from college decline. For as long as I can remember it was pretty much a rite of passage. I don't know if the decline is related to terror, race relations, policing issues, taxes, cost of living or a combination of things but I've definitely noticed.

Not going out of my way to put myself in danger - but am not changing anything in my life and if it is my time to go so be it. My life is pretty freaking ordinary and if terror wants to strike an ordinary lifestyle then there is not much I can do about it.

I went to a football game last week, Id be at the Lions game tonight if I wasnt stuck at work stirring a pot every 20 mins. No change.

does that map take into account if it was criminal related? for example for people were shot and no deaths in an area but was it say a drive by etc?

ETA: Answered my own question.

Muder suicides, drive by, drug related dispute.

Kind of skewed map

Doesn't affect me. I despised large crowds of humanoids long before these subhumans picked up their pace of mass shootings.

based on what? do you live in the city?

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

I conceal carry and not just because I can. I always sit facing the exit at resturants and make a point to get familiar with my surroundings.

I used to avoid going to movies in the 1st weekend to avoid crowds and I can see avoiding them now as a "just in case". Movie theaters I feel the most vunurable in. I always notice where the exits are and can see a major problem if there happens to be a fire or active shooter.
 that's just situational awareness, always a good thing.

The FBI at some point defined a mass shooting as four or more murders in one event. These people decided to take the shooting part literally instead and run with it.

I flew across country one month after 9-11. I drove by the city of Jericho as the Isreali's broke into a prison. I visited Bethleham (Palestine controlled) the next day. I was in Hungary this summer as Syrian refugees roled in. I was in Istanbul a couple days prior to a sequence of terrorist attacks.

I thought a mass shooting was 4 or more people injured.
