Look, if there's no waiver priority in your league and the pickup didn't cost anything and you didn't actually START Griese, there's no harm done. I'm sure anyone who would pick up Griese is also wise enough to have some other useless component on his roster to cut.

I must admit . . . I looked and was disappointed when someone else had picked him up in both my leagues . . . I was going to be a complete fool and start him . . .

There's a reason Grossman kept his starting job though all the problems, and it is apparent now that we got to see Greise in a real game situation. He can't get the ball downfield at all and now Chi is back to the old dink and dunk game that has plagued us forever. Grossman has made SEVERAL stoooooooopid mistakes in the last year or so, but he did seem to have the basic skills to be a decent QB. I'll admit that after last week I now believe he is so messed up mentally now that he can never be effective in Chicago again, but its also apparent that Greise isn't going to turn the ship around. With all the mistakes Griese made today too, I don't know if I'd rather take "Bad Rex" and at least feel there is a shot to get a deep ball if we needed it. Its also apparent that the Chicago receivers have caught a bad case of whatever the Seahawks from a few years ago had...

Now the question is why does Jerry Angelo have this many million dollars invested in two (at least) QBs that cant play?

Griese might not be able to get the ball down the field because they have no running game. Their receivers can't get open, and when they do they can't catch the ball. The line can't protect the QB long enough for them to get the ball down the field. Grossman has a strong arm. His skills end there. He can't read defenses. He can't move in the pocket. He can't sense the rush. He isn't particularly accurate. He isn't very bright. Grossman will never be successful anywhere in the NFL, ever.

2007 salariesGrossman - $2.05MGriese - $1.25MOrton - $.435MHow many teams do you think are invested at the QB position for under $4M?

Sure would have liked to have had him over Carr today. 20 fantasy points isn't a bad week off the wire. Carr had 13 for me.
