Hello A-Rod (1 Viewer)

I can't say this is totally unexpected, but all I can say is WOW. They jacked up the best seats in the house from 150 to 250. OK I can see that, but they really gave the middle finger to the average fan by first creating a new section called Tier Reserved MVP and then jacking the price of those seats 50% from last year. They went from 20 on game days to 30....buying some type of season pack isn't any better as $17 seats went to $27.

Less to do with A-Rod and more to do with a recognition of what is going to be crazy demand in the next 2-3 years as one stadium closes and another opens. Opportunistic pricing, and maybe one they should have announced before the FA signing so no one like A-Rod would look bad.

 You have a ton of baseball fans like myself (nowhere near NY) thinking of ways to get up there and see their team play in The House That Ruth Built one last time and will pay extra to see it.

Hell a buddy of mine from Boston was in town last weekend and even he said he wants to make a trip down to NY for a game before they tear it down.

Wow - I thought the Mets were being unreasonable.

They raised ticket prices for 2008 20% across the board.

In 2009 for the opening of the new stadium ticket prices will go up an aditional 24%.

Welcome to NY - now go out and get a 2nd or 3rd job to help pay taking your family to a baseball game.

Crap I hadn't even thought of this. When is the new stadium opening? 2010?
