Help Needed - Our Footballguys Schedule Maker (1 Viewer)

We need your help. We have a sweet Schedule Maker Tool. But we know there are a few advanced things it's not able to accommodate. We want to work on this for 2023 and would love to hear what features you'd like to see added.

It's usually advanced stuff like "rivalry week" or unique things about wanting to play division opponents early or late and such.

It's stuff like:

Previous version let me have double headers on week 6,7 and 8. I have 2 conferences and 4 divisions. Teams in each conference play twice (W1-W5) and (W09-W13). Other intraconference games were played on the double headers (W6-W8).

I like it. Few things:
1. How do you determine which teams you play twice for example (some leagues with 1 division, must play a couple teams twice. Is it just random?
2. I would always have the teams you play TWICE, at the start and end of the schedule. Often these are division games, so good to have those when there are no byes (weeks 1-5)
3. Don't most sites have this tool automatically? I love the idea just wondering when I could ever put it into practice as MFL certainly has a really good one already built in.

We like to have a "position" week where 1st v 2nd; 3rd v 4th, etc. In one league with no playoffs we do that every 4 weeks to even the schedule so people have balanced schedules. It works well but haven't seen that as something a schedule maker can do.

Doubleheaders is a big one, and the ability to pick the week of the doubleheaders. So I have a 16-team league with four divisions of four teams each. The schedule rule is you play each division member twice and everyone else once. So I would need the ability to identify where divisions have to play members twice, and then have the ability to select the dates of the doubleheaders. Typically I do this manually each year as I schedule doubleheaders early (to avoid injuries and bye weeks), and then for remaining double headers, I choose weeks where there are no bye weeks.

How you code that? No idea.

We've had it for years and people loved it. I honestly wasn't ever really sure what they loved so much as I was like @Deamon and just use what the league platform has.

But some people LOVE it.

When the league added the extra game, it broke some of the advanced stuff.

And now I'm trying to get a handle on exactly what that was so we can try and possibly add it back.

Semi simple thought. On Yahoo they have the "Rivalry" weeks if you choose. I have a home league with a lot of trash talk between neighbors, spouses, bffs, etc. Seemingly trying to use the FBG or Yahoo schedulers trying to get any certain week(s) to be a matchup of "Rivals" breaks the play everyone in your division twice rule. No matter how much I play with either.

The dreaded "how to handle odd number of teams" scenario comes to mind. Do you do league average? Bye? Doubleheaders as mentioned above? I would see this as a contingency for smaller league sizes: 7, 9, 11. Trying to think a little more - in the NFL schedule where you finish matters and I can see maybe in bigger leagues where the option of schedule by seed (i.e. order entered) comes into play. Just spit balling a bit :)
